The Ottawa police should be rightfully concerned, arresting a women for no reason then charging her for questioning why she was arrested in the first place, which ultimately led to her being beaten and humiliated.

The whole bunch of officers involved should be immediately dismissed if the force is concerned at all about its image.
Although I agree that the actions of the prolice were out of wrong, she WAS drunk in public... So there WAS a reason for arresting her.

The questions here are;

Why was she arrested in the first place? She was drunk in public

What happened to the female officer that is limping? She was kicked by the prisoner

WHY was she left in a cell, half naked and soiled, for three hours? (No excuse imaginable!!!!) She was drunk...

Drunk in public has multiple connotations.

From the video she looked both in control of herself and lucid so I don't think she was drunk in public.
People don't need to be treated that way unless they are violently refusing to cooperate or endangering the public.
Neither was happening in the video when the female officer applied force to the woman.

They had a good look through her pockets and frisked her so there was no excuse to cut her shirt or bra.

These cops went way over the line in this and the same thing happened at G20 in Toronto. There is a new mentality that it's OK to use overwhelming force at the first sign of confrontation. We aren't going to have that thuggish brute squad attitude systemic in the security forces in this country for any reason. If those serving in that position of authority feel it's right to use force like that on someone as obviously in control as that woman in custody in the video was, they need to get out of that position because they are neither wanted nor needed for that job.

If you can't manage prisoners better than that, then bugger off into some career that keeps you away from the public.

Get your head out of your butt. I NEVER said they were in the right for what they did. I only said that there was a reason for arresting her. Learn how to read before you start blithering...

Of course you did by condoning all their actions in saying she was drunk in public. I can read just fine. If you post something as stupid, you have to expect people to correct you. If you don't like being corrected shut the **** up.
