On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Canada Border Services Agency said the federal government was backing down from that commitment and would allow Canadian truckers to enter the country without having to quarantine even if they were unvaccinated or had received only one dose.

Today, the federal government walked back that statement, saying that Wednesday's statement was "provided in error" and that the regulations outlined in November will stand.

Whoopsie?

"At a time when inflation is already at a record high, Canadians will be the ones paying the price for the Trudeau government's poor policy decisions. Canada's Conservatives will be the voice of Canadians who are being priced out of their own lives in Justin Trudeau's economy," she said in a media statement.

Alghabra disagreed with that statement, telling Power & Politics guest host David Cochrane that the biggest threat to the supply chain is not a vaccine mandate but the pandemic, and vaccination is the only way to beat it.

It can’t be both the Vaccine Mandate & the Pandemic? Somehow it has to be either/or?

According to The Canadian Press, the CBSA statement was “provided in error,” but the government didn’t explain why the incorrect information was emailed by the CBSA to the media on Wednesday.

That’s a Really good question!! Where did that information come from in order for CBSA to release it after it was “provided in error”???

On Saturday, unvaccinated American truckers will be turned away at the border. The U.S. is preparing to do the same to Canadian truckers on Jan. 22.

“We’ve been trying to talk to the governments about the implication of all of these things and the effect that it’s going to have on the supply chain,” Ewart said. “So you’re going to have a driver come to the border, and (if) they’re not vaccinated, then you’re going to turn them around. That’s what’s happening.

“They won’t be able to come through into Canada, so it definitely is going to have a supply chain disruption for sure. How are we going to move those goods and services that we need? And ultimately, those rising costs are going to be put on to the consumer.”

Ewart says the current vaccine rates for Canadian truckers is between 83 and 87 per cent, and the industry could lose up to 15 per cent of its drivers when the new vaccine policy begins.

Unvaccinated Canadian truckers will be able to come back into Canada, but it will come with more hurdles.

“They won’t be denied entry, but they are going to have to do PCR tests and they are going to have to do quarantine,” Ewart said. “Some of those expenses are going to be at their own costs.

“The federal government has said they won’t be denied entry into Canada if they are a Canadian citizen.”

Ewart says trucking companies in Canada should prepare to prioritize delivering products.

“Our members are doing the best that they can; they are juggling their own customers,” she said. “Trucking companies have to prioritize their customers one over another based on need because there just is a shortage of drivers.”

Was Trudeau still on the fence three days before this mandate was to have been enacted with announcements in both directions in the same hands & someone just f*cked up?

So, where are we as Canadians at on the whole Hauwei 5G thing anyway?

Bad timing. BofC in the news with looming rate hikes on top of rapid food inflation wasn't going to sit well with more logistics bottlenecks on food imports.

Is Trudeau trying to start an uprising?
“We’ve always believed as long as the border remains open we should be fine from a food security perspective.”

Canada imports about $25 billion worth of food products every year, Charlebois said, 70 per cent of it across the U.S. land border.

Those imports are particularly important in the winter, he noted, when grocery stores rely on produce grown in southern climates.

“This is probably the worst time, the middle of January, we import a lot of produce,” he said. “I’m thinking of ‘cold-chain’ products in particular that could be affected by the mandate.”

Charlebois said it’s unclear what effect the manatee could have on prices, but noted the cost of food is already forecast to climb five to seven per cent in 2022.

Earle said the effects of the mandate were compounded by Ottawa’s confusing rollout, after the Canada Border Services Agency suggested earlier this week that the federal government would back down on the vaccine policy.

That confusion only added to the feeling of “death by a thousand cuts” for drivers, he said, after navigating two years of COVID.

“The cuts are getting pretty deep,” he said.

The majority of Canadians are just way to docile and way to obedient to ever do such a thing as to start up an uprising. Most Canadians would rather go along to get along. There will be no uprising in Canada anytime soon. when we have many Canadian peasants running to get their booster jabs one has to see that this covid scamdemic virus nonsense is here to stay for a long time yet because the majority of Canadians are just way too stupid to see the writing on the wall that this scamdemic is all just plain big pharma globalist bullshit. The majority of Canadians have to be able to function within the society as the rules are set up & don’t have the luxury of picking and choosing while in retirement.

Truckers this thread is about, but choosing not to get vaccinated, are potentially exposing themselves to unemployment without unemployment benefits. It’s one hell of a choice….

I happen to work for a trucking company in a management capacity, & I currently have one trucker who will not get vaccinated who we can try and accommodate (our business model is set up for cross-border shipping) in Canada at least temporarily, & One other trucker who is going to try and seek medical exemptions due to real medical reasons, & I hope it works out for him ‘cuz he’s been with us for more than a decade.

Politicians "CREATE" the problems. Then they try to pretend that they are going to try and solve the problems that they already created which they never do. They make things even worse. When politicians try to do anything it usually turns out pretty bad for we the peasants. The truckers are our hero's and our politicians want to treat them all like dirt. Without those hundreds of thousands of truckers how would we ever get by and be able to buy all the food and material supplies that we need to be able to exist at all. Truckers are the hero's. Our useless idiot politicians are not. Politicians need to be quarantined. Works for me. (y)
