My daughter was at the beach on East Vancouver Island a few years ago. She was swimming with her then daycare buddies when an Orca popped up about 100 yards away. Needless to say they all got out of the water quickly.

There's an Orca jawbone at Telegraph Cove. You can barely budge it. When trying to kick it around you can imagine the impossible predicament of being in its grasp.

That is pretty cool bill barilko.. amazing to see wildlife like that..

I wonder how dangerous would it be for a human to be in the water..
There has only been one known case of an Orca attacking a human and that was because that human had intentionally harmed an Orca. If you can find it, there is a really good book called Mind in the Waters, about the intelligence of whales and porpoises. Orcas are just really big porpoises. The ratio of their brain to body mass is much greater than ours.

Maybe but I won't get in the water with them to find out, would you ?
When y have seen the orcas playing catch with seals and porpoises you would not want to have them practice on you .

Not sure. The opportunity never presented itself and I am a landlubber. Water is not my element.

Just because of their size getting in the water with one would not be a good idea. The have been known to damage boats just playing.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. Wish I could get to a rubbing beach and witness it first hand.

And enjoy masterbating by rubbing themselves on cobble. Set up a pay as you go cam thing for those who enjoy watching diddling online.
