I don't like to have a multitude of threads that are similar, so this will be for the upcoming PC leadership race.
---

The PCs have decided to hold a leadership race. That was quick. I wonder if this is in their best interests? The only reason I can think of is to have a leader in place who will step into the Premier's job, later this year.

They will be emptying the PC coffers quickly. The race will be a thrifty affair, I believe. Big money is needed for the official campaign kickoff.

Ontario PC Party plans to hold leadership race before spring election

The Ontario Progressive Conservative Party hopes to wrap up a leadership race by the end of March, before the province’s fixed spring election date.

Nipissing MPP and finance critic Vic Fedeli was selected as interim leader in a unanimous vote around noon on Friday, following the resignation of Patrick Brown early Thursday.

Hours later, Fedeli announced that the party’s executive had decided to launch a snap leadership race. “I fully expect to be the leader of the PCs through the election,” he added.

“I think it’s going to shine a light on the PC party in Ontario in a great way over the course of the next couple months,” Fedeli said of the leadership contest.

Brown asked to take a leave

In one of his first acts as interim leader, Fedeli said Friday afternoon that he had asked Brown to take a “leave of absence” from caucus.

It seems like a bad idea, but it could work in their favour. Leadership races give parties more attention and leaders often get a boost in the polls.

But it's also provincial party leadership campaign. Do people follow them?

There are at least three extremely able women lined up to do it and that'll shut up the don't-kiss-me-you-brute-tut-tut brigade. We'll likely get a better leader and have an intriguing election with all three major parties led by women.

P.S. Walter doesn't like the idea as it requires that one has an opposable thumb and a vertical forehead.

I would prefer a capable leader. One's sex shouldn't enter into it. We should have a roster of candidates shortly, I hope.

Kellie Leitch would be my choice now that she is stepping down from being my MP.

They picked an Interm Leader, but I understand they still plan to have a Leadership race before the election to pick the Leader who will run against Wyne.

What fk up, they should go with their Interm leader for the election and spend this time campaigning.
Can't these PCs in Ontario do anything right.

We do in BC Liberals are about to elect a new leader in a couple of weeks.

Isn't she the one who wanted to impose a Canadian values test that would force everyone entering the country to believe in PC ideas?

That would be good for the country.

Kumbaya! I agree. Kellie Leitch for Ontario PC leader!

I believe that she's realized she was over the top during the last election. From what I've read, she's a capable doctor, but won't be on anyone's list of recommended PC leaders. She's heading back to where she belongs.

This is not her at her best. She should have hired a professional announcer, and had clips of her edited in. The video director and Kellie made this painful to watch.

I had to include this. When Leitch saw this, did she realize that Canada saw her in a different light? IOW, not to be taken seriously? I think that anyone who is portrayed this way is going to be embarrassed and angry.

Doug Ford gets the first position on my ballot. Caroline Mulroney is second. I haven’t decided if I will put the other names on my ballot.

You have an opinion about everything, Flossy. That's why the truth always proves to be the opposite of what you believe.

You should say more, but speak less.
