Well, to be fair, wee Greta didn't actually say we're all going to be dead in five years, only that human life will go extinct prematurely if we don't get a grip on climate change within five years. Which probably isn't true either; I've never seen any environmentalists dire predictions come true, and they've been trying it on regularly at least since 1968 with Paul Ehrlick's book The Population Bomb. We were all supposed to be starving to death long ago. Rachel Carson was possibly the first serious alarmist, but I don't think she predicted we're all going to die soon.
