Nothing. Electrical use in 1900 was minute compared to now, but as more people bought electric gadgets and electric light became the norm the production of electricity increased with demand. In fact electricity costs now are probably lower now than they were a hundred years ago when adjusted for inflation.

I get mine from Costco so I always have the lowest available price. Living in Alberta also helps. But as of right now gas prices in my area range from 118.9 to 122.9.
