I lost 60 lbs in one year, and another ten in two weeks by just cutting out salt (sodium).....I eat a bit of everything (in moderation)

Yep, and for good reason, the manufacturers want to encourage you to buy more of their product so they lace it with salt. I'm one step ahead of them, I made up my mind that salt is repugnant to me and just sprinkle on extra pepper instead, works like a damn.

I want to be alive to spend money.

My point was that your weight-loss programme is totally unmarketable. No pills, no fad diet, no testimonials from D-list celebs, no miracle claims. Just consistency, discipline, and work.

It'll never sell.

And no patronizing gyms and health spas, use the hills and stairs in your own neighbourhood. -:) It's work, but once you develop a routine, it's not hard.

Petros- I'm going to put in my two bits worth even though there may be posters who disagree with me. I don't think it matters much what you eat, every person agrees better with different foods and that is perfectly acceptable................why eat bread if it makes you sick? Like with me I'd probably puke on a diet of tofu and yogurt. The bottom line is you have to consume less than you burn off. If someone can accomplish that all the power to them. Way back in my 20s I was a fatty for three main reasons, stupidity, laziness and had little knowledge of food. (and drank way too much beer) However I got educated in a hurry and lost 22 lbs. in 2 months. and kept a lot of it off for a long time as I made adjustments my activities. I've had to retweak things a couple of times since due to falling back on my old habit- laziness. (and that includes mental laziness)
MMMoonbeam Myth Spread... in more ways than one.

except "way too much beer".

Cardio outside is great, but for instruments of pain a good gym is the way to go. I switched to a bigger gym and love it.

You just got to watch the bastards don't get their hands too deep in your pockets.-:)

An old bicycle inner tube is another resource that is cheap and effective.

When a little poke from a raspberry bush or a nick from shaving that you'd never notice before turns into something you think is a spider bite and then grows into something you think is going to explode, go get it cut out and think about all those who never followed through on an antibiotics prescription while you're sitting for two hours a day (12/12) for the next two weeks down at ER getting an IV of some heavy duty sh*t because some sweaty slob didn't wipe equipment or wash there hands at the gym.

That is if it doesn't kill you first.

The trick to using a gym to one's full benefit is to workout in other ways until ready to join and use one. Too many people buy a month membership, start working out then spend the last 3 weeks in a body cast. A person needs to take one bite out of the elephant at a time. Overdoing it at the start will kill any goal.

You just ain't whistlin' Dixie. With most things you start out with about 5 minutes a day and add a few minutes slowly as you progress. You can't get rid of a 40 year accumulation of slop in a week.

check out that recipe I placed here for pancakes made with bananas and eggs, they tasted wonderful

My sister makes really good coconut flour pancakes. Contrary to the assumption many make when talking about eating a different diet though, they are not 'diet' or lower calorie than wheat flour pancakes.

Just found out eggs and bananas are a no no for me. I'm allowed 4 eggs a week and have to curtail banana intake due to being on Warfarin.

Why are you taking rat pesticide? Ditch the meds and eat bananas.

I agree but I had a spell of atrial fibrillation last winter and I have to do what the doc says. CAn't go through that sh*t again. Damn near "bought the farm" on Feb. 17. P.S. Warfarin is a blood thinner.
