''Those numbers are almost identical to favorable/unfavorable numbers for Sarah Palin in a new CNN poll , which showed the former Alaska governor at 46% favorable and 46% unfavorable.''

The same poll that told us two weeks ago that Palin was not fit to be president.

Weak leader? What did you call Bush when he killed all those innocent Iraqis and failed to compensate them for his crimes??

I called him Mr. President.

Now Obama is picking up where the former President left off.

I call him Mr. President now.

Rasmussen shows continued slippage for Obama

C. Edmund Wright

If the President and his political team were looking for an approval bounce from the troika of the Copenhagen Climate summit, the Nobel Peace speech and "the Oprah effect" from her Christmas special, it appears they are sifting through coal and ashes instead.

For the second day in a row, the Rasmussen index of strongly inclined voters has hit startling new lows:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19. (note: it was -16 on Saturday's release.)
Prior to the past two days, the Approval Index had never fallen below -15 during Obama's time in office

''I won't judge anyone's performance in total until I have the total results. In the meantime, the individual episodes of performance are open for discussion.''

The fact remains that Obama is trying to solve the mess created by 8 years of futility under Bush who remains the worst president of all time. If Obama fails it is because he failed to solve the problems created by Bush and because of obstructionism by Republicans in Congress.

The far right critics used to love and defend Bush. Now they are objecting to Obama's failure to solve the problems he created. That tells you plenty.

Obama took on a mess left like no other when Bush left office. America is in one hell
of a mess and not even the current president can fix it in less than a year.
This happens a lot in democracy politics, and later as the next election approaches
the poll ratings go up as the administrations programs take effect. Once many Americans, middle and lower income Americans get used to having medical coverage their opinion will change. I think if anyone thought about it, having Sara
Palin as the Republican Candidate, his poll numbers will rise.
There is a long way to go before the next American Presidential election, so there is no need to panic

Palin as Pres :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Dropping like a stone.[/quote

Hey Walter - you're barking up the wrong tree- that is a very positive rating after 15 months in office- if he's got the guts he should continue the decline for one more year (to get the necessary house cleaning crap done) and then expect a gradual rise until he wins the election in 2012. You are just as obsessed as your fellow resident extremist at the other end of the spectrum.....................get in the middle and start making sense.

JLM, providing a link to a collection of polls, without any comment of my own makes me "curmudgeonly"?

It is YOU who have not only eye trouble, but far more seriously, BRAIN trouble. (mainly for lack therof).

You also seem to be utterly LAZY. Any person who has any ambition and desire to excell, would not try to save energy by showing disrespect by using acronyms and abbreviations. In case you haven't noticed, I never posted anything as "Y.J.".

I tried to read the "post below", wcich was sipposed to explain everything to slow and old curmudgeons, but the only thing I could see was my own post.

The four smiling faces, as answer to a post, rate right up there with those faces on their side, laughing, or comments like "roflmao" or "lol" as the most intelligent comment one can expect from those who are totally bankrupt and devoid of any ideas of value or an intelligent contribution to the forum.

I guess you can find the "bad" side of just about anything.

Glad that you admit that the things I mentioned are "bad".

Maybe there is hope for you.
