Obama has now been named the most admired man 10 times in a row, trailing only Dwight Eisenhower, who earned the distinction 12 times.

The 44th president won all eight years he was in office, plus 2008 — the year he was first elected — and this year, his first as an ex-president.

Trump is one of the few incumbent presidents who have not been named the most admired among all Americans. The incumbent has won 58 of 71 times.

Not in my book. Obama was just another insipid mediocrity steeped in conventional solutions. A very average guy and not a particularly courageous or innovative one.

He just perfected the smooth, slick, folksy style adopted by modern Presidents and perfected by Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. It makes people think there is some substance behind it all but it's really just smoke, mirrors and image consultants.

Polls of the most 'admired' or the most 'popular' usually just mean they are attractive, easily comprehended, lack any complexity and do not pose any kind of intellectual challenge to the consumer.

At least America has a President now who is brave enough not to give a damn about his image.
