The debt will be discounted and redeemed for hard assets. Then America will receive the same treatment Berlin received from Stalin in 1945 with the shipment of assets back to the Motherland.

From Obama's perspective he has been very successful in transforming America just as he promised. It is a very different place than it once was.

The Chinese already own America, you got no hard assets left, we got sucked into the vortex by American TV years ago, our last Imperial masters screwed us as well, the Chinese are nice people though I hear, I'm full of hope and change, how do we say that in Mandrine?

What a guy, of course the insurance angle is interesting too

The Chinese haven't foreclosed yet. If they attempt to do so Uncle Sam could still repudiate the indebtedness and Americans will then start living like Mexicans.

In the long run it always sucks to have an imperial master.

The Chinese are not nice people. They are polite people. I am a sinophile. I have great admiration for the Chinese. The thing that I admire most about the Han is their utter ruthlessness. That gives them an element of predictability. Canada and China are going to be great friends later in this century...and I don't mean that in a good way.

The National Debt was five trillion dollars when Bush the Younger took office. It was ten trillion dollars when he left office, and the Emperor Caligula replaced Bush as president in January of 2009. The National Debt is almost seventeen trillion dollars right now.

And I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it doesn't matter who takes over after Obama is gone, the National Debt will sky rocket to 25 trillion by 2020. It's an exponential progression.

But on the bright side all the people that this money is owed to will eventually all be dead!

What is the name of the president who increased the National Debt by the greatest amount?

Presidents don't increase debt, they just sit there and smile and let it happen, debt is a good thing, builds

Titanic meets iceberg...no one can save the ship. It slips beneath the waves with most of its passengers.

The US dollar is the currency of the world. What's happening is that the US is effectively printing money in digitized form endlessly. This has the effect of devaluing the dollar holdings of its foreign creditors. At some point the world will agree to replace the dollar as world currency. When that happens American living standards will collapse.

Look at international trading agreements. Nations are agreeing to value their exchanges in other currencies. When crude oil is no longer valued in dollars the end has been reached.

Timewise, I can't say. If I had to speculate I would guess at the present rate no more than twenty years.

Any relation to Edmund? -:)

I loved Barry Fitzgerald in The Quiet Man as John Wayne's sidekick.

Predictable ruthlessness instead of predictable ruthlessness, we'll adapt. I like the Chinese and hope to show them the hidding places of the capitalist dogs as soon as they get to my village. How do Noreth Dakotans live like Mexicans in february? American wars have been inevitably predicted successsfully for a hundred and fifty years or so.. Canadians will be OK the ice and snow dampen our ardor and we drink a lot so we don't make rash moves, we keep close to the wood stove most of the year, we should have taken the Carolinas'

I must watch that movie again..................probably my favourite of all John Wayne Movies! My memory of it is pretty dim now, but the music sticks out.

Canadian mythology won't work in the next phase of world history. Canada will militarize or lose its northern resources. Foreign predators will be able to work in those waters with impunity.

beyond the usual good-natured rib-tickling pick-on-barry thread fare:

WASHINGTON — It’s not the kind of history Barack Obama planned on making — but Americans now rate him as the worst president since World War II.

Obama paying the price for insisting he’s right | New York Post

It's a stupid f**Kin' poll to begin with, the best or worst is almost invariably the one freshest in people's minds. How many of the people polled have a vivid memory of Lyndon Johnson?

* greatest corporate profits since 1900

* highest Wall Street activity in over 14 years

* record job creation with recapture of all jobs lost under Bush (more jobs in total than under Bush's 8 years)

* ended USA involvement in 2 needless wars

* no terrorism within our shores

* fewer American civilians attacked overseas than under his predecessor

* Obama has raised FAR more tax revenue

* health care reform has saved countless lives

If you watched last night's tv news you would know the media, which has criticized Obama so much in the past six years, were full of praise for his success in improving the economy. Of course, all one needs to do is to do an online search and they can readily find numerous links which prove Obama is the GREATEST president economics wise ever:

Obama is the worst president since Herbert Hoover.

No. He's the worst president since Millard Fillmore - and he is usually ranked in the bottom ten of rankings of US Presidents.

And yet the American people still think he's the worst president they've had since WWII.

It's funny how people come on and say things like: "That's a stupid poll. It's wrong. Because I think Obama was a great president", as though their single few - just one view out of millions - represents the views of the country as a whole.

I'm afraid the American people disagree with you. They think Obama has been the worst US President since 1945.

Too many of those here.
But it has always been like this on every site you go when it comes to politics. Smelling everyones farts and yours is the best smelling.
As retarded as that sounds , so are most of the political nut jobs here.

Wonder if Loc will find a poll about the republican controlled governement?
See how that fared?
