The US media has become an adjunct of the Democratic Party. The American media has saved Obama by acting as his apologist and censor. The media won't do it's job of being critical of all power.

look at Bush and he was president...he is one dim bulb...but then some have said it was brain damage due to alcohol abuse...I don't know but he had trouble with his words certainly

It may have been a little different with Bush, maybe you are a little too young to remember Jack Benny was always regarded as cheap and of course Dean Martin was always regarded as being drunk, neither true just an adopted persona. Maybe a similar thing with Dubya. -

I'd say because they are "handled" their people do everything for them, think for them, write for them, advise them, manipulate them... they say Reagan was half senile before he left office because the Alzheimer's was kicking in...I don't know if it's true but it's all like a big machine and they pick their candidates according to who they think they can make a winner... there's so much polishing and psychology involved it's amazing

even running for mayor in a big city...you have handlers... they vet what they can or should not say... puppets in many cases placed there by big corporations all looking for their piece of azz

They say Alzheimers takes 10 years to kill you and Reagan died 10 years after leaving office, so he probably wasn't affected to any great degree while President.
