Are you watching it?
Mulcair won the 1st round, do you think he would be a good opposition leader?

Fire One!

Mulcair believes Quebec would be a separate nation with a referendum vote of 50% + 1....in defiance of the Clarity Act and the clear decision of the Supreme Court of Canada.

Fire Two!

Mulcair supports Bill 101, and thinks it should be forced upon federal gov't institutions in Quebec.

Why don't they just dig up Rene Levesque, and make him NDP leader?????/

Ashton, Singh and Delwar are out.

What better way to begin than by quoting that august voice of reason, Pat Martin? As the NDP MP told The Hill Times: “If we don’t unite the progressive vote, Stephen Harper will be Prime Minister until he gets bored.”

So you "WOULD" think that Cullen would be appropriate since he wants to unite with the liberals?
That would be my choice too.

I kind of dislike the idea that the leader of our opposition would come from the province that federalism is at its lowest rate. I know Quebec were big NPD voters but still...

Actually, you will find out if you hang around here for long, I'm a card carrying member of the Conservative Party of Canada.

I do think Cullen, if he could bring the Liberals on board, is the most dangerous man in the offering......with his plan to divvy up CPC ridings between Libs, Green, and NDP.......no split vote.

I do not think he will get the Liberals on-side.

They are NOT quick learners, and need to be spanked yet again before their attitude will change.

I firmly believe the NDP are done next election.....they simply can't serve two masters: Quebec and the RoC.

Conservative party wish list for NDP leader is Thomas Mulcair lots of material for Conservative attack ads.

But the best leader for the NDP would be Brian Topp who has been a NDP backroom boy and he is less emotional than Mulcair and could give a good run for the money against the Conservatives.

Vote extended to by 35 minutes because of computer problems

I disagree with the entire post for a few reasons.

1.) Mulcair doesn't really have much tangible dirt on him yet.
2.) Brain Topp is not as moderate as Tom, so there's no reason for the NDP to move beyond that niche.
3.) Mulcair's been remarkably reserved throughout this entire campaign, but there's also nothing wrong with fighting fire with fire where it's necessary.

I would be worried if I were a Liberal supporter and Mulcair won.

That camp has the most to lose from his leadership.

I feel Tom is to emotional for the high pressure job as leader of a national political party where he would have to deal with the Conservative attack machine.

Mulcair might do reasonably well in Quebec. He might even hold on to 40 seats there.

He will be smashed outside of Quebec.

The Rest of Canada (there ya go Petros) will have NO patience with a 50% + 1 attitude on Quebec separation, especially as the province becomes increasingly upset at CPC policy and the movement undergoes somewhat of a rebirth.......

Cullen is the most dangerous.

Mulcair IS perhaps the best, in character and fighting ability, but his policies will kill him.

Topp never held a job outside of fantasy-land in his life, and clings stubbornly to the democratic socialist way. In other words, he is an idiot........Good luck with him!
