I'd say she's not falling for your whataboutery.

It shouldn't be regarded as
whataboutery
when it is brought up in the post I'm responding to? Or am I misunderstanding the post??

but back to the topic......

even CDNS are protesting in support of the American protesters re: the insane Trump immigration actions..... that have separated kids from their parents.

Onlyh the most PRIMITIVE would be doing what he has done.

They had no problem separating kids from parents........and yet have massive problems reuniting them. They

T hers is NO excuse for this INHUMANITY...... unless the regime is sadistic .

I honestly don't know why the dems didn't .

Three reasons, one good, one bad, and one middlin'. The good one is that that bill also had provisions they found unacceptable.

The bad one is the political advantage they're getting out of this.

The middlin' one is a political maneuver to protest the fact that they're shut out of negotiating these bills.

It shouldn't be regarded as when it is brought up in the post I'm responding to? Or am I misunderstanding the post??

It isn't. Canadian detention of children appears nowhere in that post.

You're delusional.

i would have thought a gop majorityand a gop potus would ensure a gop plan got through - but they would have to have a plan, so barring that - blame the dems and go on vaca

I see one big problem here. It's the easiest thing in the world to criticise the job someone else is doing, but if you haven't done the job yourself, then you are treading into dangerous territory. If you don't know ALL the facts you really don't know anything!

I agree with you but you are flogging a "dead horse" and will be told if you don't like the thread don't read it. The thread IS stupid because it's tied to emotions and the facts are nebulous.

Trump, Obama and Trudeau all separated immigrant children from their parents.

Can we all move along now?

So, why not list the FACTS of the situation?? We can then dissect them. "-)

immigration vote ends up 120-301

that is a resounding failure typical of this administration and this congress.

but obviously the problem is the dems.

Only when the current situation is resolved. When the current seaprated kids are back w tith their parents.

The seriousness of such separation seems to elude some. Put yourself in that child's potion and see if you can empathize.

The facts are known and knowable. The reality is that nobody here wants to deal with the facts. They want to sit in their corners and yell.

As a veteran of the Indian schools, I can empathize.

So, having gotten that out of the way, I would love to hear your proposed solutions.

You are doing a fairly good job of lecturing us peons how about you tell us what your solution would be?

The reps that voted against wanted stronger border security and no pathway to citizenship, Dems could have countered them with a yes vote

Well, step one would be to quit bragging about what a big, strong man putting children into cages makes you.

Step two would be to return to the Bush the Lesser methods (they were also the Obama methods, but I thought saying "Obama methods" would simply cause you to shut off your brain and lash out). Those methods are to give the parents release and a court date, put an ankle bracelet on them, and let them go. According to the ICE Director under Obama, 96% of those so treated showed up for their hearings. Not that I expect you to believe that.

Finally, I would impose the solution I've talked about several times. It's a very simple, three-sentence law:

Section 1. Any person who employs an illegal alien shall be fined $10,000 and imprisoned for 30 days for each illegal alien employed, sentences to be cumulative and consecutive.

Section 2. No judge may alter the sentences set forth in Section 1.

Section 3. The Department of Vaterland Sicherheit shall immediately establish a system by which the citizenship/entry status of an individual may be verified by electronic means (e-verify).

There y'go. Got any problems with that?

Democratic vote in republican majority congress should make no difference at all.

The GOP leadership in Washington is dysfunctional and the GOP rank and file has no idea what to do or who they can trust. One day Trump says they should ignore immigration and the next day he says vote for it.

Like the Wall and repeal/replace this president does not know how to get anything done.

Sorry. I wan't referring to you. My impression is that you ARE empathetic .......and humanity oriented.

Whatever is decided.....it has to start with aborting the harsh policies / sand making sure families stay together. ..... I realy do think that the countries they come from have to be involved .....as most of these people come to get away from the horrors of what is happening there. It sin't even a choice. (per se)

The current administration seems to be just wanting a quick fix. When PEOPLE are involved.....thee is no such thing.

I understand that.

At the same time, you should understand that I am a conservative, in the traditional sense, not the current MAGAhat sense. So do not expect me to agree with you all the time. I appreciate your empathy for the children torn from their parents, but like some of our Old Stock Canadian friends, I demand practical answers.

Agreed. Cruelty to children to please the base is a Nazi/Klan move. Those who support it are Nazi/Klan.

End of.

The current administration seems to be just wanting a quick fix. When PEOPLE are involved.....thee is no such thing.
The current administration of shitheads wants cheap, temporary popularity. F*ck them.

Perhaps you didn't READ my post!

I would truly value your reaction to my last post above yours to which I am responding, sir.

Not a fan of catch and release no matter who's policy it was, there (US) or here (Cdn) the non show percentages have been reported a lot higher up to 30% here. What of the reports of the monitoring devices being discarded, shouldn't there be some detention of non verified persons crossing illegally? Penalizing users of illegal workers I agree with you

Now what is up with the attitude you are showing towards me? I never belittled you in any post I wrote I have agreed and disagreed with you regularly.
