A Mississauga, Ont., man is stunned after witnessing and filming a woman make several demands for a "white doctor" who "doesn't have brown teeth" and "speaks English" at his local walk-in clinic on Sunday.

Hitesh Bhardwaj recorded the incident while waiting for his own appointment at Rapid Access to Medical Specialists in Mississauga, Ont. He shared his video with CBC News.

Over the course of four minutes of video, a woman asks clinic staff several times for a "white doctor" to treat her son who she says has chest pains. When staff tell her that no such doctor is available, the woman gets angry and at one point says "being white in this country I should just shoot myself."

"I saw a doctor that was not white that did not help my kid," says the woman in the video. "I would like to see a white doctor. You're telling me there isn't one white doctor in this whole entire building?"

Bhardwaj says that he started filming the incident after a woman sitting next to him asked the agitated woman why the doctor had to be white.

"I couldn't help but record the video," said Bhardwaj. "This is bad, this is inappropriate and shouldn't go unnoticed."

In addition to Bhardwaj, other people in the waiting room also confronted the woman in the clinic. In the video several of them try to get the woman to go to the hospital, to which she responds, "I was there and they only have brown doctors."

One female witness in the video, tells the woman that, "Your child clearly has more issues with you being his mother than him needing to see a doctor. You are extremely rude and racist."

Countries like Canada have vacuumed the Third World clean of their doctors. They put all sorts of money and resources into training them up and we steal them away with the promise of lots of money. A fair number of them fail to qualify here, too and they end up driving a cab.

I love the third world crap doctors we have. Had one at emergency tell me I had an inflammation of the lungs when what I had was a damaged heart. I still remember the piece of crap's name, Dr. Yoong. All he did was stick a stethoscope on my chest and made his instant diagnosis. No tests, no ECG, no nothing except the handful of Motrin and muscle relaxers the goof handed me before dismissing me.
And then there was the moron who tried sending me to physio instead of a surgeon for a shattered kneecap. And of course I can't forget about the asshole who "lost" my medical records.
And one of my all time personal favourites, the crook at the hospital after my crash who kept insisting I'd had been his patient for three years already. Which is funny because the first time I saw that goof was during that particular hospital stay.

Um, there's a difference between an incorrect diagnosis and doing **** all except slapping a stethoscope on someone's chest in the emergency dept, making a snap and completely wrong diagnosis and sending them home with a handful of anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers without doing any tests whatsoever.

You should also take better note of what I said. I was referring to my experience with third world doctors, not non-White ones. My current GP is of Middle Eastern heritage, although he was born and raised in the Maritimes and educated and trained in Canada. He's pretty good too. And any issues I have that are beyond his skills or knowledge as a GP, he's pretty damn quick to set up a referral, usually before I even leave his office.
One of the surgeons I had after my crash wasn't White either. He did an amazing job rebuilding my left foot.

There is one other issue at stake here and it's a complaint I have heard from a LOT of women over the years. There are doctors here who belong to a particular culture that do NOT take their female patients seriously, especially when it comes to female problems. For a lot of women who have one of those doctors, they might as well not have a doctor at all. And with the doctor shortage in Ontario, if you already have a family doctor you can't just drop them because they suck and you have zero confidence in them. Well, you can try but you'll probably be waiting for the better part of forever to get another one.

I had a minority 'heart specialist' misdiagnose me with Panic Attacks when I knew full well it was no such thing-I just roared YOUR MEDICINE IS A JOKE when he told me what he thought it was-a Halter monitor installed by a competent physician later showed Atrial Filibration one of the most common conditions.

Another Chinese doctor actually laughed at me when I said I was in pain from a neck issue-I was So Forceful in denouncing her to my own MD that she has never been seen in that clinic since.

So I'm very choosy when listening to what imported MDs have to say.
