The American dream? Seriously? New Zealand tends towards the expensive side to live, Rent is 15% higher in New Zealand. Real estate prices are 14% higher. Clothing costs about 70% more in New Zealand. Internet costs are 59% higher in NZ. Average monthly disposable income in NZ is 21% lower. Using purchase power parity, local purchasing power in the US is 57% higher than in New Zealand. In other words, on average in the US you get 57% more bang for your buck than in New Zealand.
It was the same thing when leftists crowed about EU countries having a de facto minimum wage the equivalent of $20USD/hr. However, when using purchasing power parity that "$20" an hour in the EU equates to around $11 bucks an hour in the US,

Only in the US do you see idiots wearing $200 Nikes while carrying $500+ cell phones complaining about how poor they are.

Well it's easy to do that when you pre-plan for something you intend to release on the world. 1) They spent the better part of a year prior to the outbreak quietly buying up as many PPE supplies as they could. 2) The outbreak just happened to occur at the exact same time the city it broke out from was hosting the World Military Games. 3) In some cases the tactics used to keep the spread down in China were far beyond what Doug Ford is getting shit on for by the likes of you and your half-witted, inbred ALT-left ilk.

Curious how much New Zealand politicians make.

To someone making $200,000 like our politicians $20 is not a lot although it can easily become $50 in an overtime situation. For the person spending the money that adds up fast and reality is the employee needs to create value in excess of wages for the business to sustain.

What the big companies do is to arrange the contract on a cost plus basis and then hire as many and pay as much as they can in order to maximize their handling charge % of expenses. Part 2 is to arrange for the supply of drugs into the camp for all the under worked and over paid employees. Good profit there.

Private entrepreneurs make what they make through their work and have no guarantees of $20 per hour. Usually they are interested in their business and 6 weeks of paid vacation is not the top priority. Few Canadians no longer going that route bodes poorly for the future imo.

And the ones with the most money and toys are not automatically the happiest.

it's not so much believing in the "CCP" as it is having common sense and knowing who the liars are historically. western media has never told the truth on China, so why believe them now?
