I'm glad to see that the Muslim Canadian Congress is opposed to this mosque:smile:

Sure. Assuming you don't, is there a distance where it would be acceptable? What if there are existing Mosques within that buffer zone?

I have no idea. I wouldn't even hazard a guess. I think they will do as they have been, and work to build bridges. I'm sure they will build some. And then there are some people, as extreme as the extremists who boarded those planes, who won't be swayed by anything.

No, and he shouldn't. Part of building those bridges should be trying to see something from someone elses viewpoint. Picking winners and losers and playing around with other nation's futures certainly didn't help out the Americans. I think that's a valid point.

Would it even matter if it were Muslims in America that funded the project? Seriously, there are many kinds of Saudis...they aren't all terrorists. My neighbours are Saudis, they drink more beer than I do.

Distance question - Not so close i would say - Common sense would guide that. I did not state that all Saudi;s are terrorists - you did - As to having Saudi friends that drink beer - and that proves what. Nothing - When they are in Saudi Arabia they conform.

As to the funding please goggle how the Saud's fin ave and pay for Muslims in poorer countries to be in conflict - Start with Kosovo. Then the FRY - Bosnia - these are Sate funded - Not individuals - and those that are supported by individual Saudi's are just another way of carrying the Wahabi version of Islam -

Lastly check Canada and the US - massive Saudi support - Educate yourself on what the Wahabi version of Islam is - a close example is the Taliban type - not in every way but many.

Also check that many of the Imams in Canada -US come from Saudi Arabia and bring their extreme version of Islam with them.

Saudi's biggest export outside of oil is Islam - The Wahabi version.
