Senators urge government to axe tax act changes
The federal government should scrap or at least delay plans to amend the Income Tax Act as the proposals risk harming the Canadians these changes are meant to help, the Senate Committee on National Finance said in a report released Wednesday.
The committee’s report is the product of extensive study and cross-Canada consultations with the people who have the most to lose under the proposed changes.
This work took place with the endorsement of the federal finance minister.
The majority of senators on the committee believe cancellation is the most prudent course of action. However, committee Deputy Chair Senator André Pratte and Senator Éric Forest disagreed.
As an alternative to cancellation, delaying fiscal reform implementation would also give the government more time to consult with businesses and tax specialists on the details of the changes, once these have been released.

Here is a post I saw recently and it illustrates the utter ignorance of civil service Hogs regarding the actual workings of the real world! Sadly the Hog enjoys giving idiot advice to desperate people- I think I have seen his crap before- advising people with no construction experience to become well paid plumbers by watching Youtube videos! But the fool is NOT helping! This time Hog advised:
Desperate guy! Hook up with the lonely girl! Find a job... ANY job... Bank your money. Buy a minivan... an old one but a GOOD one. $1,000. Preferably with a trailer hitch 'cause you're going to need it for the trailer you later buy. Haul scrap metal to the yard. learn every trick of the trade... copper wires... copper cores in pool heaters and air conditioners... etc.
I say the guy is not just a fool- he is dangerous to our sanity! Find a job he says- in Durham Region where General Motors and all its spin off business is DEAD unless LIE-berals exempt them from their Carbon crap and trade garbage! And LIE-berals WILL NOT offer such exemptions- if they do it for one then they MUST do it for all! And LIE-beral;s are deep into “kill Nafta” mode as Our idiot Boy Justin ignores Yankee fears re- those tens of thousands of illegals flooding into Canada- Yankees do not want to import Muslim terror along with their dairy and softwood lumber! So Nafta is probably on the way out due to LIE-beral stupidity- and |GM will be one of many to take a HIT!
Hog says “bank your money” and ignores the 50 percent of young people crippled by college debt and now back living with parents because they HAVE NO MONEY!
Hog says “buy a mini van for $1000.00" and Hog is clearly blind to the reality that the ONLY VANS available for a grand are ones being sold- FOR PARTS! For a grand you get something with a blown engine or a possibly repairable transmission that is laying on the ground where it landed UNDER the vehicle! For a grand you WILL NOT be taking the machine for a drive clean test and will be lucky if it even starts fairly regularly on warm sunny days and thus guy will be always on the watch- ready to duck into a side street so a cop will not ticket him for driving an unsafe and non drive clean tested and not insured vehicle! And auto insurance is a unaffordable LUXURY for that one grand vehicle on scrap metal collecting income!
Up till about 10 years ago- cops used to run a blitz once a year to get problem drivers and vehicles off the road. They would let it be known in the newspapers in Durham Region that they would be checking vehicles coming off 401 in Whitby- looking for insurance papers, valid licence, proper emission test result reports and etc! In spite of this advance warning, 25 percent of the cars and drivers pulled over had legal troubles of one sort or another! And this was YEARS BEFORE the 2008 mortgage melt down! In those “better days” before LIE-berals gouged us on electricity and so much more, the number of drivers on Region roads that had trouble with their paperwork and driving illegally was over thirty five percent!
Hog says “ haul copper scrap to the yard” - and- what a MAROON! The last guy I saw hauling a big load of copper wire to the scrap yard had broken into a Hydro substation and removed several hundred pounds of copper trimmings and left overs. Its called THEFT and only a person who owns nothing and does not mind some jail time will indulge in such economic activity! Hog has NO IDEA how many people are already chasing this stuff!
Such a “job” is starvation wages at best with a SHORT CAREER as the van is OLD to begin with and guy WILL NOT be earning enough money to do any repairs! One fine day it will DIE and IT will be the last item sold to the scrap yard- towed in by suddenly out of business entrepreneur! Assuming cops do not shut him down for that pesky lack of licence, valid drive clean and insurance!
And there is an added bonus in this Hog crap that just keeps on TAKING! There are so many people going through our trash that govt is trying to find ways to shut the trade down! It is already illegal to take aluminum cans and bottles with deposits on them out of blue boxes! Not that it stops desperate people from denying blue box Hogs of their deposits! Just this morning I heard a crash and looked out to see a guy with a bicycle picking himself up after wiping out after the dozen shopping bags full of cans tripped up his bike! Bruised and battered, covered in filth, soaking wet but determined- he went on rooting through likely looking trash cans in a light rain!
But govt wants ALL the scrap for themselves! Yes- they are trying to discourage people from putting out old water heaters and aluminum eaves troughs and bits of copper wire from renovations out on the curb- free to be hauled away by any finder who wants it! Hogs want to find a way to stop people from leaving metal at the curb- free for anybody to pick up and take away!
The public generally figures govt is crazy to try to stop such a trade. Govt wants us to phone the city and have two city Hogs in a 5 ton truck come around to pick up our metal at a cost of a couple hundred dollars per hour for truck and men! But the public figures it is more cost effective just putting stuff at the curb and letting private citizens- who usually need the money- come around on their own time with the truck THEY PAY FOR and collect that scrap! The public is ALREADY angry enough about “ eco fees” that they see as just another tax gouge! The public is disgusted with the govt greed for pennies from scrap- AND for their efforts to create more useless Hog jobs that could be done WAY cheaper by private sector!
And those people who make something like a living collecting scrap? Its like becoming a Hog- or joining the Mafia- you cannot get there UNLESS YOU ARE CONNECTED!

In fact, LIE-berals around the world followed that same policy of throwing money at corporations to create or save jobs! It is this policy that has gutted the European Carbon crap and trade scam- in order to save jobs- govt gave out huge numbers of free carbon credits to companies that are LIE-beral friendly! LIE-berals DO look after their union Hog PALS! Companies that did not get free carbon credits are now buying forged carbon documents at a steep discount over legit ones sold by govt- with LIE-berals afraid to ask questions for fear of losing votes- as usual! Other companies and organized crime gangs are having great fun selling forged carbon credits on a rigged stock market. All this forgery and fraudulent Crbon reporting offers companies a way to SAVE on taxes and Cdn LIE-berals are dedicated to using the SAME Carbon crap model!
Has the world forgotten ENRON? The biggest pack of corporate energy THIEVES EVER! Enron execs thought a LIE-beral Carbon crap and trade tax was the greatest idea EVER- they would make out like BANDITS with it- looting and pillaging on a grand scale! And will LIE-berals really want to admit that anything the biggest corporate thieves in history LIKE- is probably something the rest of us should RUN from?
LIE-berals in Europe are so afraid of losing votes that they are not fully investigating the various loopholes in their Carbon fraud game! Under reporting of emissions by companies to reduce carbon taxes is one hole. Another hole is govt over reporting of carbon production to drive a govt desire to INCREASE Carbon tax scam rates to give govt more gravy! And Carbon crap and trade is ALL about giving govt new sources of gravy! So if high corporate taxes are a good thing then why do LIE-berals act so SNEAKY with this Carbon scam that only cleans wallets and not the air? LIE-berals insist that their Carbon crap scam is about saving the environment but we already have a dozen years of European experience to PROVE that it Carbon tax scams don”t work!
If giving tax breaks to corporations is wrong then why would LIE-beral Dalton McGinty offer up huge loans and tax breaks and such to auto makers in 2008- to General Motors and Chrysler- companies with headquarters in Detroit- a city in a FOREIGN COUNTRY? High taxes are good for our economy so LIE-berals insist but how come LOW taxes save jobs?
And since LIE-berals like to put on a show for us- maybe we should discuss “tinsel town” - Hollywood North- how is it that high corporate taxes are a bad thing- but ultra LOW corporate taxes are a GOOD thing for Hollywood North? If low taxes and govt grants ENCOURAGE job creation and investment in Hollywood North- maybe some LIE-beral can explain why low taxes do NOT- in their view- create desirable jobs and investment in other industries?
Our Pet/ Pierre Trudope- the father of Our idiot Boy Justin decided it would be good for Canada-somehow- to have a Cdn national oil company- owned by govt and he spent billions creating Petro Canada! But Petro Canada was run by civil service union Hogs and never made a profit! In fact Petro Canada was EXEMPTED from paying any fees to access oil fields in Canada - UNLIKE private companies who paid the full tax freight and DID turn a profit! Petro Canada was a money pit devouring Cdn tax dollars in spite of NOT having to pay full taxes like private sector companies who DID pay the full freight and DID turn a profit! CLEARLY LOW TAXES CANNOT SAVE a badly run company- operated by Hogs!
Eventually the Conservative govt of Brian Mulroney put Petro Canada out of its dead broke misery- it was drowning in endless red ink and the public was enraged! Mulroney sold off Petro Canada to private interests- and it NOW PAYS the full taxes owing AND it DOES turn a profit as well! There is a moral about taxes and Hogs there that LIE-berals DENY!
And what of former Ontari-owe LIE-beral premier David Peterson and Urban Transit Development Corporation? LIE-berals decided it would be good to have a Cdn company dedicated to making street cars, busses and subway trains for the Cdn urban transit market- with these products manufactured by civil service union Hogs! It was the relentless red ink flowing from UTDC that heralded the fall of Peterson and the rise of NDP Knucklehead Bob (BOOB!) Rae! Even in those far off days NDP was worried about the environment and doubled down on gravy for UTDC Hogs! This is one of many reasons why Ontari-owe DOUBLED its debt in 4 years under Rae and why his political career was so blighted that he chose to leave NDP and join the LIE-berals! This is another moral in that LIE-berals do not want to consider!
And what of our current crop of Ontari-owe LIE-berals under Wynne-bag- they chose to throw MASSIVE lumps of gravy at green energy producers- paying up to NINE HUNDRED PERCENT MORE for green energy than for other forms of electricity! Do LIE-berals want to tell us now that retail prices and taxes have NO influence on corporate energy production policy? As another post has proven- green energy is ONLY viable and profitable IF govt THROWS MASSIVE SUBSIDIES at it- and that translates into LOW TAXES!
And speaking of subsidies- WHY would LIE-berals GIVE BACK several billion dollars to foreign investors who did NOT live up to green energy deals signed with Onttari-owe LIE-berals? These green goofs planned to produce solar panels here and wind generators and etc- but failed to invest fully the promised funds and did not hire as many Cdns as promised. LIE-berals had a window in which they could cancel the green disaster and ignored it! Oh yes- LIE-berals got SOME MONEY back from corporations- but left several billion dollars on the table for corporations to grab up- and LIE-berals called it a good deal! Should we assume that LOW taxes on green corporations will save jobs? If so then why will low taxes not save jobs in other businesses- is this new LIE-beral math?
And what of Our idiot Boy and his broken promise to small Cdn business? The Turdo promised-during the election- TO REDUCE taxes on small business! Why make such a clear promise and then renege on the promise? And why do LIE-berals get so ANNOYED when they get caught out telling WHOPPERS?
And what of the Paradise Papers? That damning package of documents that indicate that LIE-berals- including Major LIE-beral fund raiser Bronfman- make a habit of BENDING- if not BREAKING Cdn tax law by taking their investment funds to Carribean tax havens for investment- why go so far out of the country- just to get out of sight of Revenue Canada TAX COLLECTORS unless they find high taxes odious- and somehow WRONG? There is a moral here that LIE-berals do not wish to discuss!
And what of Bombardier- the relentless devourer of LIE-beral tax grants? How is it that LIE-berals can both scorn low corporate taxes AND hand out a billion dollars in tax BREAKS to Bombardier? Does such generosity save jobs? Or buy Hog votes for LIE-berals? Or BOTH at once? There is another moral here that LIE-berals do not want to discuss!
And if high taxes are a good thing for corporations then perhaps LIE-beral hypocrites can tell us WHY high taxes are NOT a good thing for civil service Hogs- the main beneficiaries of that LIE-beral 1.5 percent income tax break offered up to Hogs right after Our idiot Boy was elected?
There are other questions as well- such as the events surrounding Conservative Joe Clark- he got elected prime minister after Our pet Pierre had maxed out the national credit card and made people unhappy with his mad spending and increasing debt! Our free spending Pet was dumped and Red Tory Clark promised to get the debt under control but wanted to put up gas taxes to raise revenue- but tax mad Cdns balked and when the the minority Clark govt fell- Cdns re-elected Pierre Turdo because he told us the Clark idea to raise gas taxes was Bad! but after Turdo was elected- he RAISED GAS TAXES higher than Clark ever planned! And when Cdns complained- Turdo reminded us that he only said it was bad for Clark to raise taxes- LIE-berals raising taxes were NOT included in that statement! There is ANOTHER moral here about LIE-berals and taxes and political promises that LIE-berals do not want to discuss!
For that matter- if high taxes are a good thing then maybe some LIE-beral will explain WHY it is that LIE-berals offer up such a package of tax breaks and interest free loans and grants and TEMPORARILY REDUCED electricity costs to any company that will open up and operate in Canada? Low taxes are a good thing to attract corporate attention- but as soon as they see that the low taxes are TEMPORARY- they leave! Maybe high taxes ARE a problem- that LIE-berals cannot discuss intelligently without revealing their hypocrisy?
So many questions- so many details- that LIE-berals do NOT want to discuss! Oh well, there IS a reason we call them LIE-berals!
