It like a charge of sexual misconduct. Once the accusation is made its not
easy to skate by it. I think Harper is in real political trouble here and I don't
think he is going to survive it in the long run.

They are all a bunch of slime balls with a greatly overinflated ego. And I wouldn't expect it to be any better with Justin or MulCair at the helm.

From what I can see Justin and Mulcair are siding with the senators over Harper, so I'm just wondering what sh*t the senate would get away with under either of those two!

If you go to the O.P. and watch the video you will see that both Trudeau and Mulcair are chastising Harper, NOT the senators. Thought it is quite obvious, Gerry!

It seems the only way into the Senate now is your ability to be a BAGMAN for political contributions for the party in power. The only sure way to lose your seat is to to show any kind of independent political will against the PMOs office of that party.

Today? The vast majority of people who have been Senators got in for that very reason. They were very open about that in the 19th century.

These Senators have gone against the PMO before which im sure angered Harper. Its his own appointees who are his biggest obstacle to passing any meaningful senate reform without opening the constitution. When you are given job security to the age of 75 its probably hard to vote it away.

When it comes to this particular case with Duffy and Harper - Id believe Harper.

I'd rather eat the pink slime from McD's. Lol.

Thats what politicians become when they die.

That's right, and they are right. The PM is responsible. It is his appointees. He's done nothing about the senate. He made all kinds of promises concerning the senate, and all he has done is appoint party hacks who have done a hell of a job ripping off the taxpayer. And then there's the jail bird.

Duffy knows how the game is played- the longer the dance, the better for him.

I think that Duffy will be the one looking the fool... The 10's of thousands in consulting fees paid to a mystery consultant (read: to Duffy) is what has killed that moron. It's fraud and he should be investigated and punished accordingly

OK Gerry, you win this round but don't let it go to your head!

Harper's priority was most likely in line with his efforts in the House to create as much of a power base as possible while ignoring all other considerations, is at any wonder that it's turned into such a sewer.

Even if he wasn't able to bring about the kind of reform he talked about before being elected, he could have done his best to appoint responsible people to the upper chamber, instead we got self-serving hypocrits, some of whom in their past positions would have been crucifying people in the press for doing exactly what they have done when they got a chance.

Oh he is toast- Could do serious jail time- heart condition and all.
Now the Power Brokers involved on the Conservative side- Well they may also end up on the receiving end of RCMP charges.
Assisting or attempting to cover up fraud, well I am sure we have a Criminal Code number for that.
