Well of course they would. There is no logic involved in a move like this, and no principle other than to take every opportunity you can to stand against your political opponent. It's the way things work here.

you need new material.

I suggest instead of NOT doing things, we start doing them properly! Forget the fast profits, let's just have moderate steady profits for many years. We don't have to go dumping oil into rivers and oceans.

I think the video was very good and we definitely should look after the resources, but we should also use them and replace them. I still think we can have a right of way across the country without destroying the country. It's a matter of proper assignment of land use. The philosophy of the A.L.R. is a good one and when it was first implemented 40 years ago most land was included in it with the idea that over time, land that wasn't conducive to agriculture could be released. That makes sense- not like they are trying to pull off in Summerland, releasing arable land to build housing, businesses, roads etc. while there is land not suitable for much nearby where they could build to their heart's content without losing much.

Maybe we should start thinking of the possibility of building pipelines on stilts above ground! Maybe not either, idiots would probably start crashing planes into it!

Yep, as I recall I think the chief suspect was out of Hythe AB and he has since left us! But what do you do? Just quit and let these idiots win? They blow up houses and hydro towers too, but do you quit building them? With increase in technical abilities I suppose it would be feasible to beef up security. The way I see it the world is going to need oil for a minimum of another 100 years.
