Why would it hurt? If you're thankful for what you do have, you spend a lot less time bitching about what you don't have.

A happy worker is a productive worker. If somebody needs 5 minutes 3 times a day during work hours, it's well worth it.

Smokers are a bigger hassle than Muzzies.

Not in argument, I actually, that was very much apart of my business philosophy, and the reason why I'm still close to the bulk of my past employees.

But it doesn't change the fact that while it is nice, it is not law.

If we need laws to be generous and keep people happy, it's time to pack it all in and give up on society.

What is silly about it. By law employers are obligated to give 1/2 an hour. If somebody wants to break that 1/2 an hour into three prayer breaks, so be it. It's their time.

I think it comes down to the policy of the employer. If people can go out at a non-scheduled time and have a smoke, there is no reason a Molslem cannot pray at his scheduled times. But if the employer says all breaks shall be at 8:15PM, then goober's prayer shedule makeup rules would come into effect.

Not knowing the exact policy, it is hard to comment further.

The difference here is that people that head-out for a non scheduled smoke can be let go without the employer facing a specific clause that allows for accomodation

That's a good example of silly.

Not all jobs are capable of doing that.

"Hey Bob, stop the line, I'm going to pray."

"Ok Moe, what do we do about the line of trucks ready to dump though?"

"Screw them, it's my half hour, I'll break it up anyway I want. I don't care if the company has to pay a wait time fee to the truckers."

Good thinking, two thumbs up.

How long does it take to pray?
