Cap'n has invoked the rub and switch more than once so I was just highlighting the debate tactic.

Regarding the Euro situation, we need to flex some political muscle and get the EU states to actually co-operate with each other to resolve this dilemma. Not wipe our hands clean by saying: "Not my problem".

It will be our problem if the Euro goes down.

I can agree with that so long as it doesn't mean that Germany and a few others should foot the bill for countries like Greece that have been totally irresponsible wit their finances.

With a Debt-to-GDP ratio of 165%, I'd have to agree.

Greece will sort itself out when it finally realizes that there are areas where austerity doesn't cause a negative impact on the people that live there. In other areas, gradual austerity may be necessary. And in some other areas, they will need to make investments.

Either way, for Greece, the government needs to do further analysis. This full throttle austerity vs. bailout argument is pure ideology and it's tearing their own citizens apart.

"So what" the difference, his debt is his own business, while the other politicians, created a debt which we Canadians will have to pay.

His personal debt situation is also a reflection of his philosophy and Mulcair wants to be PM. There is a strong possibility that this same/similar philosophy may be extended onto the way that he envisions Canada should be run.

Just like Harper's personal philosophy crafted that bailout package in 2008.

Just let him talk,we once recieved the visit of another prick who practically acted he was the boss, told the PM of Canada that "Canda must give money to the poor countries"

and the prick is known as Bono.

No doubt... You'd think that rock-star-boy would give up one of his castles before he starts running around telling entire nations to give 'til it hurts

Except no one ever said that.

Au contraire mon frere... Sinatra and Dean Martin used that specific phrase to help the Jerry Lewis charity all the time.. Bono-Head implied it by his 'give up 3% worth of GDP annually' or whatever such BS he was peddling.

There ya go... You may now apologize for your incorrect statement that 'no one ever said that' comment.

Ah, I thought you were implying Mulcair said that.

You know.. the topic we were discussing while you'd prefer to talk about Bono and rub 'n tugs.

Alright....

If I recall, you had suggested that if anyone (mulcair included) proposed that Canada forward monies to bail-out the Eurozone, you would be against that... Is that a fair summary of your basic position on this issue?

I'm referring to the opposition.

Just so I'm clear; is this the 'official opposition' (NDP) or opposition in terms of the general public's opposition

Neither NDP or Liberals made the suggestion that we need to fund a bailout package right now.

I'm sure Harper will change his tune soon enough though. We already know from 2008 that he loves bailout packages.

"I've been very clear about this and so has the minister of finance," the prime minister said in an interview with the CBC's Peter Mansbridge. "We are going to need some fiscal stimulus. We don't want to lose our long-run financial strength.
