LOL !!!

The White Man's Burden, Bitwhys ???

I'm not musing about the white man's burden.
Rather my post was wondering some legitimate questions
about a polling in a war zone.

And maybe some of the pollers
having the name of Omar would not be a good name to
carry in a Shi-ite neighborhood.

White Man's Burden is weighing on you.

LOL !!

Are you a white man ?

I know there aren't any black people on this board.

Then you are wrong, i am black

I'm not commenting on your non sequitur musings, I'm commenting on the single line you chose to cherry-pick out of the article.

Its not my problem if you fail to understand the historical reference.

Actually your posted article had a lot of interesting points.

But I failed to see what you mean by "historical reference." Go over that one again, please.

Call all you want. Did I say something that wasn't true? No ridicule was intended, I merely pointed out that the war in Iraq was, and is, an unmitigated cock-up.

I agree with you 100 %. As a Yank I am not in the least offended by what you wrote because it is the truth!

Nowhere in your post did you give even the most remote inkling that you are gloating over the loss of any American life. Rather, it is clear that you are condemning the needless loss of any life.

As a Yank I thank you for voicing your concern.

Peace to you & yours.

The photo is manufactured -- otherwise, the tears would also trail from the other side of her eye and the eyelashes would be moist.

While it is good to see that at least one person cherishes the right to vote, it remains a fact that the majority of Iraqis want the USA presence there to end immediately. And if that country was a true democracy, the majority's will would be honored and obeyed.

That IS a REALLY hokey picture. I understand the obvious "meaning" of it, but it's just plain pointless, is the current situation in Iraq what that woman is supposedly daring to hope for???

If so, it was a stupid dare. Iraqi women were NOT in Taliban Afghanistan, and the images of burkha-clad women don't necessarily hold much weight in respect to Iraq.

The whole "freeing women" notion that has replaced the WMD scare tactics as one of the centrepieces in the western "missions" in both Iraq and Afghanistan, while noble, is patently ridiculous and demonstrably false...

Or is that picture somehow mwant to suggest that the "nay" votes in this poll were exclusively women??

If the people of the country say get OUT (and I can't vouch for the validity of the data, but compared to the number of civilians dying PRE invasion, it sure as hell seems a LOT worse now, and everyday folks care about their EVERYDAY LIVES and not the standing of their leaders on the international stage- see "USA") then there is no discounting that, plain and simple, and there is NO WAY that the west can force religious woman-belittling zealots into becoming anything but.. either way it's not any other invading countries business how that stuff plays out domestically

`` I can't vouch for the validity of the data ``

News reports have shown tens of thousands of anti-USA rallies throughout Iraq. There have been separate Shiia and Sunni rallies with as many as 300,000 people appearing.

So far, there has not been even one pro-Bush rally.

Yes women did vote, but I'm sure that disappoints you Gopher I've read enough of your post to know that you are twisted to the extreme left thinking-I'd guess NDP? Hows that Transvestite Party planning going? Has the NDP secured funding for "Their Save the Taliban" fund raiser?. Finder it's the same ole same ole Propaganda that you badly dish out-you need new material.

Go ahead children with your bull****, is it that you are to stupid to understand the hell that has been unleashed unto to this world visa vie "Muslim Extremists" where did all the 18 year old snot nosed kids come from?

This is just another Anti-US thread that has gone down the usual CC road led by a bigot and his children.

Where'd all the good posters go? The above 2 page thread explains why they left.

WOW that was some anger, let it out!!

I'm 33 BTW and my nose is quite dry :D

And considering we're talking about how a country that WAS INVADED BY THE U.S. generally wants them out, I suppose it can't HELP bu be, by some definition "anti-U.S."
