What does it mean when a list of ONE-HUNDRED NINETY Hollywood Actors draft and sign a letter supporting Israel? It means a lot, but not what you might think. When that many actors come together to do EXACTLY the OPPOSITE of what Hollyweird is usually known for doing, it sends a strong signal to the other actors that there is opposition within their own clan and that the LABEL of Liberal Israel Hating Elite doesn’t always fit.

Hollywood has deservedly been labeled the epicenter of the “left coast.” It is a city full of misguided liberal actors who are too detached from mainstream Americans and traditional values.

 Recently, conservative actor Jon Voight took a few pro-Hamas actors to task for their shameful comments about Israel’s efforts to defend their democracy from terrorism. And now, what began with a relatively small number of Hollywood celebrities voicing support for Israel has become almost 200 celebrity names signing on to a pro-Israel, anti-Hamas petition. Even superstars like Sylvester Stallone and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger have signed on… which should be yet another reason to watch Expendables 3 this weekend!

In addition, some actors you wouldn’t expect to be on the correct side of this issue surprised us – A-Listers, such as Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman, and Mayim Bialik also signed on to oppose Hamas. Great news!

700 artists announce a cultural boycott of Israel

Over 700 British artists, from the worlds of literature, film, stage and music, have pledged to boycott Israel "as long as the state continues to deny basic Palestinian rights."
The campaign was launched Saturday with a letter in The Guardian signed by Peter Kosminsky, Mike Leigh, Jimmy McGovern, Miriam Margolyes, Riz Ahmed, Jeremy Hardy, Brian Eno, Richard Ashcroft, Gillian Slovo, China Miéville, and Liz Lochhead, among others.
The pledge in full, organised by 'Artists for Palestine UK', states:
We support the Palestinian struggle for freedom, justice and equality. In response to the call from Palestinian artists and cultural workers for a cultural boycott of Israel, we pledge to accept neither professional invitations to Israel, nor funding, from any institutions linked to its government until it complies with international law and universal principles of human rights.

Former English PEN president, writer Gillian Slovo, said: "As a South African I witnessed the way the cultural boycott of South Africa helped apply pressure on the apartheid government and its supporters. This Artists' Pledge for Palestine has drawn lessons from that boycott to produce an even more nuanced, non-violent way for us to call for change and for justice for all."

Yep, that's about the response I'd expect from someone who views the conflict over there from an ideological perspective and not an historical or factual perspective.
You prefer to hear and see that which suits your prejudices.

What I don't understand is that anyone just has to think something against the Isreali Government and they are labelled as being anti-semettic. Even citizens of Isreal find they cannot criticize their own government without getting the same tag. Harper had family reasons for his unwavering support of Isreal (which surprised many Isreali's). I guess that I do not see either side of the Palestinian, Isreali being completely right, or completely wrong.

The right to return would put in an Arab govt, I doubt they would go to war with themselves.
