Not really, that post was just stupid.
Partisan, stupid. What's the difference?

Tory secrecy?
With Trudeau, Chretien and Martin how can anyone talk about Tory Secrecy?
These three took Machiavellian secrecy and shady politics to unprecedented, brand new heights, or more properly, in their case, brand new lows.
But your Honour. Why am I required to stand before you in court when others before me have done much worse?
you stevie lovers can claim spin all you like but this government{herr harpers}has nothing but contempt for pretty much everything, except meby, big oil and their bible thumping buddies in the riligious right.
but your honour. Why am i required to stand before you in court when others before me have done much worse? Is that not reason enough to grant me a pardon?
The Conservative government has every right to act dishonestly because according to CDNBear all elected governments have acted that way since the beginning of time.
Dishonesty is very serious as far as the public is concerned and when a government does it they risk losing power so their only remedy is keeping secrets.
Don't get me wrong secrets are important to keep a country and their citizens safe.
The Afghan detainee documents are a good example national security applies and only only high level security cleared MPs should be the only ones to view it which Ignatieff just got his clearance this past week to the Privy Council.

This Conservative government seems to hide behind secrecy a lot of the time and it makes it worse that Harper ran on transparency and accountability.
This is why it puzzles me that his base is still supporting his government.
The Christian Right Harper's core base supporters are dragging themselves down into the abyss because they feel the crumbs the Conservatives are throwing to them is enough to abandon their values like if Stephen Harper is the Messiah himself to bring them to the promised land.
The Freedom of Information access is years away to find out about this government until then Canadians will have to settle for what they hear.
I actually liked Harper's idea of a fixed election date because it would force Parliamentarians to work together and tough it lout like responsible adults for four years. And then the Fuerer decides that that only applies to a majority government... Well, fine then, create a majority coalition then.
One thing is for sure, the coalition is still possible in Canada with one exception, not with the Conservatives as a key partner. all other three parties will join to get rid of the Conservatives and send them to opposition for a long long time. That is all they are good for. They are not to be trusted.......................................................................................and Harpers reckless one man rule will insure that in the next election.:canada:
As I said, it is next to imposable to undo the shadows of Abortion, Gay marriage, and $100 Billion in the red, plus the hypocritical game of transparency that happened as soon as he took office. The voters will punish Harper's bad misuse of power.
Don't be too sure about that. Granted, Harpo's brand of I'll-take-my-football-and-go-home-if-I-can't-be-captain isn't going to win him any popularity contest. IF your Liberals had a real leader, they might have a chance. All anyone had seen from Iggy has been oppose everything and promises.
For that reason a coalition is the monster having a snooze as we speak, but come election time, hey, all politicos are opportunists, and good old Jack Layton and Jill Duceppe may wake up the monster who will send the Conservatives to opposition and Harper out of a job..........:canada:
That's not it, 5P. What the deal is about is that partisan hacks like Soc, SJP, and others are always complaining about the Cons while they completely ignore of forget that their own favored schmucks have been just as bad. I haven't seen a party yet that has been completely bad or completely good, yet these posters are constant with the, "Ugh! We good, them bad" crap. It's straight dogmatic, unintelligent, partisan cow dung.I like how Conservative Party supporters here are suggesting that since there was inappropriate conduct on the parts of former governing parties, that we should allow up to the same level of inappropriate behaviour on the part of the Conservative Party without question.
Hypothetically, that's the way things are supposed to go, but from everything I have read about Canuckville politics, we hover around the status quo baseline. Stuff changes but on average, we aren't any better than 50 or 20 years ago.The point of general elections is to improve the standards of government that we enjoy, is it not?
Layton is a lot less likely to join Iggy in any coalition if he keeps fishing in firm NDP ridings like the Soo. That shows a man who knows he doesn't have enough to lure red Tories away. They ALL have to dump their huge egos and start inviting voters into the polls.
