A Friday night house party in Brampton got so big, it spawned its own hashtag and attracted a squad of police to break it up.
Peel Police made several arrests at a large house on Stanley Carberry Drive on Friday night, after more than 1,000 teenagers attended a raucous house party. Police discovered the party on Twitter, where it was being promoted under the hashtag #MansionParty.
Police said officers visited the residence earlier Friday night to warn the mother her house was being promoted for a party on social media. She said "I told my son he could have some friends over," according to police.
After receiving several 911 calls to complain about the noise, police said they returned to break the party up.
Several teens were arrested for minor infractions, including underage drinking. No injuries were reported.
Several photos and videos posted on Twitter and Instagram show the large house's double-staircase and balcony packed with partygoers. Other images show a heavy police presence breaking up the party, including five police cruisers and a helicopter outside.
The 5,000-square-foot house, located on Stanley Carberry Drive near Mayfield Road and Goreway Drive, was still under construction.

Police helicopters don't come cheap.
And what kind of parent doesn't at least supervise after being pre-warned by the authorities? Obviously one who has no compunctions about under age kids having a party in a construction zone.
Freaking unbelievable.
