The Army Times reports that the 3rd Infantry’s 1st Brigade Combat Team is returning from Iraq to defend the Homeland, as "an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks." The BCT unit has been attached to US Army North, the Army's component of US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). (See Gina Cavallaro, Brigade homeland tours start Oct. 1, Army Times, September 8, 2008).

Actually, thinking a bit broadly for a second here.... that might explain the whole Iraq invasion and occupation to begin with..... not just for oil, but to train the troops in urban warfare and desensitize them from killing civilians.... so when they head back home and put Bush's Martial Law in place, he'll already have an army who are so used to "Just following orders" and be able to oppress another nation, their own..... and perhaps claim those who are wanting him out of power are terrorists.

Hypothetically of course. Time will tell.

Fearmongering? Perhaps.... but until Bush dies of old age, put on trial for war crimes, or disapears off the face of the planet, I wouldn't put anything past that lunatic.

Now lester let's not throw them right into the immersion so quickly.... I can't even remember all of our national anthem anymore..... ever since they split the damn thing into both french and english back when I was in school.

Teach them french first, then teach them the anthem.
