Soak Duffy in brine and liquid smoke.

Long bacon North Korea style.

I think there is little doubt that Duffy is a sleaze ball, but possibly quite mild compared to all the other sleazes in Ottawa from all parties. He's just 'cute' like a fox. You ever see sh*t smelling like a rose? That could be Duffy when this is all over!

With not needing to reside in your home Province, Wallen is off the hook too?

First off, I don't care if there is a senate or not. I was responding to skookumnuts remark about Harpo wanting to abolish the senate and I remarked that Harpo was hypocritical. You, on the other hand, jump in with your usual nonsense because you have already pigeon hold me cuz you think you know what I think. Well, you know what you can do with your pigeon hole. I expect your tandem pissing buddy to be by soon to say something equally as stupid.

What you actually wrote is below

So why hasn't he. Instead of abolishing it he padded it with his buddies. Just slightly hypocritical, no?

Was I mistaken in interpreting this post as feigned indignation that Harper hasn't abolished the Senate and is therefore a hypocrite?... In 'padding' the Senate, did you honestly believe that he would appoint Lib and Dipper Senators?

You're not that naive (then again, maybe you are)

Regardless, it takes me right back to the comment that you would need the Senate to approve its own 'abolishment' and even you aren't that stupid to believe it would happen (then again, maybe you are)

It would be unfortunate to lose the senate because of these trough lickers.

The main role Canadian Senators
have is in providing "sober, second thought" on the work done by the House of Commons. All federal legislation must be passed by the Senate as well as the House of Commons. While the Canadian Senate rarely vetoes bills, although it does have the power to do so, Senators do review federal legislation clause by clause in Senate committees and may send a bill back to the House of Commons for amendments. Senate amendments are usually accepted by the House of Commons. The Canadian Senate can also delay the passage of a bill. This is especially effective towards the end of a session of parliament, when a bill can be delayed long enough to prevent it becoming law.

I think it would be best to have a triple E senate but , failing that, how about the senate appointed by the respective provincial gubmints. No lifetime appointments, you stay only as long as the provincial gubmint says you can.

That would have my vote. Help control the federal parties. No solid gold pensions at the end either.

Perhaps at every election their names should all appear on the ballot and you can vote which ones to keep and which ones to "deep six".

Perhaps. I was thinking more along the lines of them being appointed by the provincial government, at pleasure. But I could be persuaded to have them elected with the provincial election. Might make government more interesting.
