I still can't believe why the prairie folk ain't running the country, being such intelligent, sceptical, sensible folk.
Unfortunately that can never happen as we were sold a bill of goods at confederation . And another with PET’s Charter of Rights and no responsibilities.

It is a conundrum, isn’t it? “Carney owes his job to President Donald Trump,” was the Tuesday view of the Washington Post editorial board, declaring that the U.S. president had singlehandedly thwarted the election of a populist Conservative government in Canada.
Even Rolling Stone, which put Justin Trudeau on the magazine’s cover in 2017, opined that Canada’s newest Liberal government was effectively a Trump creation. “Donald Trump single-handedly elected a new Canadian Liberal Government that was down 25 points in January with his endless ‘51st State’ bloviation,” wrote the publication.

A Republican consultant quoted anonymously by Politico on Tuesday was of a similar view, saying the outcome in Canada was a “pretty specific result based on the tariffs and 51st state trolling.”

Trump himself appears to be of the view that he bears responsibility for the Canadian result. Just prior to the campaign, Fox News host Laura Ingraham directly accused Trump of aiding the Liberals with his anti-Canada rhetoric, to which Trump replied “I don’t care.” Etc…

“I’d rather deal with a liberal than a conservative,” he added.

On Monday, The Atlantic published an interview with Trump in which he acknowledged that Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre had been on course for victory prior to his own November victory.

“You know, until I came along, remember that the conservative was leading by 25 points,” said Trump, adding “I was disliked by enough of the Canadians that I’ve thrown the election into a close call.”

The reaction of some Trump allies was to blame Poilievre himself, alleging that he “blew it,” or hadn’t been sufficiently deferential to Trump’s Make America Great Again banner?

Number. WE have the land, Toronto has all the ridings. The system was rigged in favour of the east at confederation. While the prairie folk were busy growing food for the world, the banksters and various scam artists were busy taking all the money. And passing laws making manufacturing in the west unprofitable. Remember the Crow rate?

Yes, we're aware that you would limit the franchise to landowners only. Cuz nobody else has rights.

Do you ever have anything intelligent To say? Do you even know what the Crow rate was?
in Canada land owners have the least rights of anyone. Tenants have the very lopsided Landlord- Tennant Act, illegal aliens and refugees get 4 star hotels, land owners get their property stolen by the government if they refuse to pay for all this bullshit.

Well, that slid totally below the radar. I knew she was in Carney’s Cabinet, & that most PM’s don’t have a Deputy PM, but I totally missed this.

If Freeland got the leadership role, she wanted Carney as her Finance Minister, but I never heard that she was chosen as deputy anything since Trudeau, but just as Minister of Transport this go around.

Wiki still thinks the position is vacant, but maybe they haven’t caught up yet?

If you want your TEMU and AliExpress, do it today, Carney will be coming home with a list of tariffs on China.

You're right. I misread the article. Her tenure as Deputy ended in December, and she's been Minister of Transport, Internal Trade, and Ugly since 15 March.
