Once "all the ducks are in a row" probably time to legalize it, as long as it is strictly regulated and all laws pertaining to it are enforced. Education on the effects of it to young users (under 25 is important) but they have to learn to take some responsibility. For me personally my biggest concern is the driving aspect. Are there reliable tests in place so impairment can be properly measured and stand up in court?
What concerns you about driving ? Have there been any reliable studies on the affects of marijuana while driving ? Does marijuana impair motor skills ?

The truth of the matter is that we won't see a big increase in stoned drivers. Those will to take that risk are already doing so. Those who value their license understand the ramifications of an impaired driving charge. As I understand it, swab tests are being considered.

There was a major, methodical study in the 70s. It showed that marijuana use does not impair driving skills. It was suppressed.

Yes, but not by the Liberals.

The Libs can't manage shit, look at how screwed up the FN Inquiry is, it is totally screwed up and off track.

We can't tolerate this kind of incompetence in legalizing marijuana

Back in early eighties I dd my fair share of driving while stoned. I was definitely impaired.

People shouldn't drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

We give out opioiods legally like candy and pot is verboten.

Only government approved opioiods. You know the ones taxpayers pay through the nose for and doctors and drug companies make a killing on. Those are healthy. Only the non approved ones are deadly. And addictive.

Is it not possible to make a distinction between prescription marijuana and recreational marijuana? Also, is it not possible to allow a person who wants access to buy and use it while ensuring that an addict who does not want access to it cannot easily access it? In other words, does it really need to be so all-or-nothing?

Agreed. It can screw with adult minds too if abused.

Largely bullshit. Should ask people that smoke pot, not people that make their living off fear.

When I think of all the shit I did in my 20s and even 30s, it makes me shudder. Thought nothing of driving drunk, just very lucky there were no serious accidents and no one got hurt. When I had small kids of my own, it got me thinking.

For me It screwed up any estimate of speed or time, every thing seemed to move in slow motion, but apparently it doesn't do that to everybody, and mathematics???? forget it!

With exception of perhaps the worst case morons, I think the brains people were born with were probably at the optimum! :)

Is it not possible to quit telling people what to do for fun?

Maybe if more people were, the jails might not be quite as full! :) :)

That must have been a real challenge for you eh

The biggest problem with the F/N inquiry is it got started 30 years too late. No use locking the f**king gate after the horse is gone. Put the money toward educating the next generation. With this Inquiry how much wiser are we going to be 20 years from now?
