Harper's attitude to marijuana is unrealistic.

Harper's attempt to use gov't advertising to thwart Trudeau's move on the legalization of marijuana is ludicrous.

Harper's mandatory sentencing on growing pot plans is ridiculous. (as is all mandatory sentencing)

Harper is wrong on marijuana. Very wrong.

Trudeau is right on marijuana.

Trudeau is wrong on everything else.

Which begs the question: how much dope do you have to smoke to even consider voting for that idiot Trudeau?

Don't be an idiot Cliffy. If you read enough of my posts, you know Harper is hardly my hero. He is just currently the best man offered.

Sociology is a non-discipline.

Perhaps they see and smell the BS spread by progressives with an agenda. Or they are concerned with the damage done by a drug with no real use other than effing people up. There are no tests to indicate the long term effects and because it is not a drug with proven lifesaving effects there is little interest other than from users. I know Tonington works in the pharma jungle btw, that makes me even more suspicious of him. Are you a pothead flossie?

It's not just a progressive issue. Ideally, in a free country, you should be free to live your life as you please as long as you aren't hurting others and getting in the way of them living their free lives.

Pot is not harmless by any means. But it is overwhelmingly a personal risk, not a social one. And it should be a persaonal issue, not a social one.

There is such an industry these days of hand-wringing social scientists and nanny state policy wonks who just want to make us more safe and no ill is too superficial not to require hamfisted state intervention. You know what? I'm safe enough. I really don't want to be any more safe, not when it leads to endless petty rules, regulations, taxes and public tut-tutting until we get to the point where everything that isn't forbidden is mandatory.

I have no dog in this race, and am indifferent on the legalization
of pot to the general public, but I would like to interject here.

There are scientific, medical, and peer reviewed studies regarding
marijuana in treatment for glaucoma, M.S. and pain control for chronic
issues up to and including cancer among a handful of other ailments,
and thus the legalization of medical marijuana.

Personally, I wouldn't want to live on a mind altering substance to manage
a medical condition if there was an alternative like Tylenol or whatever, but
that's just me.

Lots of people function just fine dabbling daily with this drug, and many think
they do but just don't....and are to whacked out to see it themselves. I also
know a young man who ended up in a phyc ward for months after his first
night playing with marijuana, and has never been the same since.

Er, that would be horse in the race and dog in the fight, but whatever trips yer hammer:p

Far as I'm concerned, its a "gateway" drug. Some open the gate. Some don't.
The ones that don't are probably the wiser
Whatever. No dog of mine in this horse race, dog, thingy. ......eh.
