Ally, you can buy SS cleaner you know. In lieu of that, try baking soda and a brush.
We did not intentionally buy a pot without a warmer. Who would even expect a pot would be without a warmer but it was.

Weird. I guess it's built in obsolescence or something like it. Les said he'd just dig around inside and reconnect wires to bypass the clock. lol Sure as heck would be better than throwing out a good $100 coffee maker because of your $1 clock. lol
It is on this week for $9.99 (I think that's what I quoted) but the regular price is about $16.00 + I had a fellow go through my till tonight totally thrilled at being able to buy Kicking Horse coffee at such a cheap price.
Stainless Steel is also much nicer to look at than cast iron and is popular in every appliance there is. Where did cast iron come into the conversation? Did I miss a post?
Cast iron came in when I mentioned it because I was thinking in terms of cookware in general. I always thought it held heat really well but was surprised to learn stainless is better at retaining heat. Lots lighter, too. lol
Get a machine - coffee to die for - when done properly. PS Cappucinos in the run of the mill NA restaurants - chains suck.
We have a DeLonghi machine. We use it for making espresso, caffellattes, cafe au lait, and that sort of thing. Flavored coffees aren't really popular here.

Well Alley, just a couple of weeks before Christmas our local Home Hardware Store opened another store near my home. I was wandering around there and came across a pot almost identical to yours. It has a glass carafe though and that's what I wanted. I paid $107.00 plus tax. It's the best pot I've ever had. Not a single drip when I pour it. When it says 8 cups - you actually get 8 cups back when it's made. The sales girl said she had one just like it and never had any trouble and she said her Dad had a really old one that broke down. He called the Cuisinart company and they fixed his pot for him for free!A word of advice. Don't spend 20 or even 50 bucks on a coffee maker. Alwayz spend at least a 100 bucks.
I've had those cheapies before and they ARE A FIRE HAZARD. I left coffee warming in the pot once, zipped to the store, came back and coffee maker was JUST getting engulfed in flames! A melted, white plastic mess!
This is the like the one I got right here, spent $120 I think.
GOOBER: I had a Corning Ware pot for years and years. Just sat up in the cupboard taking up space. Then my son bought a travel trailer so - I gave him and his wife the pot. I couldn't ask for it back. Wouldn't be right and we have lazy mornings out camping so - we have our Hamilton Beach electric drip maker in the trailer we now have and a stainless steel one in case we don't have power.
Tomorrow is the last day of 2009 and I am already pining for summer and camping that will happen in 2010.
The cycle begins anew tomorrow night. It is only a 6 month downhill slide to summer. Just think; you could be in Prince George freezing your buns off. Hope you and yours have a great new year.
I've been to Prince George. Lived there for 3 years and I've never been back! That would be a 6 month up-hill crawl for me. :lol:
