Not just Jewish boys... It's cleaner in your adult years ... Pretty much standard now...

But messing with female genitilia come on, why mess with perfection... The only grudge I have is that God decided to put the play ground so close to the sewage treatment plant...

Pretty much standard? You might want to look into that. I don't know many people who've had their boys done.

There is a HUGE difference from male circumcision and female circumcision.

It depends on the type. Not all female circumcision is drastic. Some are the equivalent of male circumcision. A snip and a trim here. They deserve equal protection under the law.... only adults should be allowed to cosmetically alter themselves.

Nothing gets discussed when it is used, as it most often is, as a means to dismiss one over the other.

Not if you're rational about it.....

Only adults should be allowed to cosmetically alter themselves.

Yep.

I certainly don't feel I was *ahem*, mutilated by my own parents.

In fact, Little Locutus is quite a handsome boy.

Same goes for many of the women who've undergone female circumcision. Telling someone their genitals are 'wrong', is not usually well received.

You could get 19 people to sign a petition for almost anything. How about some reality here, 19 people signing a petition is utterly meaningless!

19 out of 20.... that's not meaningless. It might speak to the fact that people are hesitant to be argumentative face to face though.

In only 30 minutes 19 people signed it with some saying they believed FGM was wrong but because it was part of Ms Hussein’s culture they would add their names.

Nineteen people signed it? Big deal.

Millions of young boys (Jewish ones, for example) get genitally mutilated every year, but nobody seems to be bothered about that.

Young Jewish boys don't get genitally mutilated, they have their foreskins snipped.

Pretty much standard? You might want to look into that. I don't know many people who've had their boys done.

That's because you live in the sticks my dear. :D

Just let the kids decide when they're older. There's no need to be subjecting newborn infants to surgery for antiquated religious reasons. male or female.

A surgeon retires from his long career as a specialist in circumcision. Throughout his career he has saved hundreds of foreskins as mementos and now wishes to turn them into a souvenir. He takes his specimens to a leather smith and asks him to make something out of them. A week later the surgeon returns and the leather smith presents him with a wallet. "All those foreskins and you only made me a wallet?" exclaims the surgeon. The leather smith replies, "Yes, but if you stroke it, it becomes a briefcase."

Exactly. If my son decides he wants it done after he's 18, I'll pay for it.

More from the "moderates" and the enlightened left.

This is the ultimate result of collectivist indoctrination. The individual gives way to the "group." The Left only talks about groups because to them the individual is an enemy defying the group.....

Kinda funny how the right vilifies Trudeau (the darling of the left) for the charter of rights. I guess the charter is for individual rights or group rights, whatever suits your political agenda at the moment

fitting punishment for the Battles of Vinegar Hill and Culloden.
A few years ago I ran across a film where Culloden was quasi re-enacted but the battle was told by a modern type news reporter. Unique to say the least

It's no surprise that society deems that the ripping of an inconvenient child limb from limb in womb.. to be a 'human right' of the mother.. would have difficulty rationalizing retricting the mutilation of a dependent child after birth. It requires all kinds of contrived and stilted logic to make the case for either.

I'll say it yet again:

Multiculturalism is cultural suicide.

This proves my point, the people that signed this petition have been so twisted by the view that all cultures are equal that they are incapable of defending the basic tenets of their own culture........and so it dies in the face of a determined and confident barbarian culture.

The Charter fails to protect individual rights, which is the sole reason for its existence.

Ask a person trying to erect an English sign in Quebec.

Ask Whatcott.

Soon, ask anyone wishing to wear a crucifix to work in Quebec.

The Charter only enshrines ways to modify or deny rights that are inherent and ancient..........."notwithstanding", "multiculturalism" (insanity), and "reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society" are the antitheses of a real Bill of Rights.

Ah, so you want YOUR personal belief enshrined, but not others? You want English signs in a French province, but not female circumcision in a country that does it to males? Sorry, but your rants against 'multiculturalism' actually just sound like ranting against 'different culturalism'.
