Lobster Cruelty

Everything living reacts in some way to injury, even plants and parameceum. Does that mean we should quit killing things?

But, lobsters should be kept alive in salt water until just before they go to the big clam shell in the sky.

An abnormal number of Canadians have always struck me as extremely cruel, savage, barbaric and criminal people. Judging from these comments how they salivate over pain and blood, and the fact they haven't lifted a finger to stop the largest and most cruel wildlife slaughter in the world for decades, the yearly bloodbath of hundreds of thousands of arctic baby seals. It takes a global effort to isolate Canada and stop them. I don't know any country in the world more savage than Canada.

I agree.most beings with nerve systems have go into something called "shock" when seriously injured. One of the effects of "shock" is to release chemicals that numb pain. Extracting lobster from nice cozy SW aquarium and pitching it into boiling water is enough to release those chemicals. Same thing when a cougar grabs a fawn; the fawn goes into shock.
As far as keeping lobsters in cold water or ice goes, they live in cold and/or icy water au naturel. They also can survive outside of water actually for a long time if the gills are kept wet. All that is needed is for the tank to be oxygenated. Rome's being ridiculous.

What I thought was particularly ridiculous from the OP is the fact that goldfish cannot live in bowls because it is cruel? Hello! Goldfish have no memories so it's not like they even know they are in a smaller sized home.;-)

And being fined for not walking your dog at least three times a day? Give me a freakin' break!:roll:

We have a friend who broke his back in a MVA. His spinal cord was severed but when he regained consciousness, he felt no pain. It wasn't until about a half hour after the crash that he started feeling the pain. The chemical is called endomorphin.
