Just heard on the news that the LNG project has been cancelled. Looks like we could be in for a rough ride with the Dippers at the helm!
As if it has anything to do with the NDP. It was a very bad idea to start with and would create much havoc with the coastal fisheries and wildlife. Good riddance to it.

Nope- that was Christy's baby. One thing we need in this province is industrial type jobs, especially along the N.W. corridor & this being 2017, there is the technology to do it safely.............it just has to be properly "policed".

If you believe that it is a good idea for those reasons than it would have to be a Government owned and operated venture as the Private Companies around the world are cancelling these projects ..........

85 Gas Projects Dying on the Vine as LNG's Promise Falls Short

Consulting firm IHS Inc. has said only one of every 20 LNG export terminals planned will actually be necessary by 2025 as demand for LNG slows amid an ever-expanding North American gas supply glut. Qatar, the world’s biggest LNG exporter, plans to double production from the giant North Field, potentially adding to global oversupply.

So, what facilities have been built on Canada's east coast? You seem to think that billions have been spent building these export facilities. Where are they?

Goldboro LNG project in Nova Scotia

Not quite finished but scheduled to be in full ops in 3.5 years

PS - Google is your friend... Try is next time, you might escape looking like a jackass again

Yeah, it's 'not quite finished', and isn't likely to ever operate as an export facility.

But you claimed there were lots of facilities on the east coast, when in reality, there are NONE at present.

Pathetic little attempt at a rebuttal despite you're having a solid reference to research, particularly your ridiculous assumption that it isn't likely to operate as an export facility.

First off, the suggestion that it isn't likely to operate as an export facility is among the most retarded statements going. Had you made even the feeblest attempt to look into who was participating in the financing of this project and who hey have secured long-term contracts with, you might begin to understand how wrong your assumptions are.

Yeah, how many times have you been to that site, and how many contracts have you worked on with it?

Nothing I said was incorrect.

You are trying to make an argument within a grey area. The plant exists and is in the last stages of construction.

Questioning if, or how many times I have been there is irrelevant.... I haven't been to the Nazca Lines, but that doesn't mean that they doesn't exist

It's fun when people who aren't involved in the business decide to make assumptions about what's going on.

Agreed and with the above in mind, you really ought to rethink your decision to make factual statements about a project and industry that you don't know anything about

Relying on you for what, exactly?

PS - I am in the sector and am very familiar with not only E&P, EOR and transportation, but also have a reasonable footing in the market dynamics for nat gas and LNG with respect to filling the gap in the area of power generation domestically and internationally.

PPS - Your belief that shale gas (oil) is the source that will eliminate the need for LNGs and facilities is also superficial (at best) relative to the actual characteristics of the realizable reserves.... Huge cost to drill and complete those wells and while they have a large IP rate, they decline just as hugely - meaning that the capital costs of maintaining that kind of boepd is massive as a company needs to keep drilling those expensive wells that die-off in a relatively short period of time.
