How does Hairdo fix this?

Hairdo suspended 2 Liberal MP's with no evidence excepting allegations.
Then he outed the 2 NDP MP''s who did not want to lay an official complaint.
Now are these MP;s innocent?
Are they guilty?

Well in the court of public opinion, he has ruined them.
What does he do to rectify this or should he?

Re: How does Hairdo fix this?

The Liberals really fuk'd this one up.

If they wanted to sort the whole thing out behind closed doors, then so be it, but instead, they decided to toss it out for the media and people to see, even though there isn't anything to really see as nobody pressed charges or made any official complaints.

And now because it's getting all sorts of attention by the actions of the party leader, some MP's are taking the fall for something they are innocent until proven guilty with. Justin Trudeau really screwed the pooch and jumped the gun.

Re: How does Hairdo fix this?

JT did take actions that (appeared) to be against the wishes of the 2 NDP women and he has severely damaged the careers and possibly the personal lives of these 2 MPs.

I don't think that 'wow' really covers things
yeah but I haven't read about it yet...so at this point my expression of shock is just....wow

it might grow after...lol

I get where Trudeau was/is coming from, especially on the heels of Jian Ghomesi. Unfortunately, once he took those actions, there is no turning back.

It's no secret that I don't like JT and the Liberal practice of divide and conquer, but Trudeau really should have thrown the ball back into the NDPs court and asked them how they would like to move forward.

the 'do' to neckbeard: "how do you want me to handle this?"

neckbeard: "We'd like you to carry on with your self-destruct."

so there you have it.

Isn't that what the NDP did? Tom and the accusers clearly stated they didn't want to go public, the accusers said they didn't want to be brought to public attention because they didn't want to be victims a second time or something along those lines.... And I believe the NDP tried to help protect the two Liberal MP's from being outed in order to not have their careers destroyed as what just happened. They wanted to sort this out behind closed doors as a private matter, and Justin decided he wanted to make a public spectacle out of the whole thing and open an investigation, etc. in order to look like some sort of public hero.

He looked like an azz is what he ended up doing and completely disregarded the requests from the alleged victims while also destroying the careers of two of his own MP's through public trial without evidence.

Trudeau still had options and by virtue of addressing it directly with the 2 women and NDP.

The pressure is now on the Dippers and/or women to make a decision to engage the formal complaint process, handle it behind the scenes or both.

Trudeau would have generated the positive optics of tackling the issue head-on without blowing it up the way he did.

Ultimately, the Dippers succeeded in the Libs having bad press because of the issue of sexual harassment in addition to not adhering to the wishes of the 2 women.

JT loses twice

I don't have much respect for people who spread accusations and then don't have the guts to step up to the plate. As for Trudeau, I don't know what evidence he's been given on this file, so I'll hold judgment until that is sorted.

Well my friend, you are going to be waiting as their is no way this can go forwards with out a complainant.
Then their is no process, all of this is off the cuff.
Akin to a group judging, investigating & making law as the case progresses.

This is typical Liberal Party overreaction. If there are no charges and the complainants are not willing to come forward then there was no reason to suspend them. They should be reinstated and Trudeau should apologize publicly to both.

Double standard.

You don't know what evidence he was given, so you cut him a break on his actions, yet you also don't know what that evidence given was and you don't know the finer details of the "Victim's" intentions and how they wanted to resolve the issue beyond not wanting to go public.... yet don't cut them a break.

Not every victim out there wants to stand in front of the cameras and proclaim to the world what happened to them.

I'm not saying their claims were true or not, as I am holding judgement on that just as you're holding judgement on Justin's actions.... but what I do know are the actions Justin took against what was wished by everybody else but him.

So we destroy the political careers of people based on hearsay. innuendo, and secret accusations?

Not every victim out there wants to stand in front of the cameras and proclaim to the world what happened to them.

If you are not able to face your accuser then what is the point in justice.

I'm not saying their claims were true or not, as I am holding judgement on that just as you're holding judgement on Justin's actions.... but what I do know are the actions Justin took against what was wished by everybody else but him.

You're goddamned right, he is the leader of a party and one of the rules of leadership is to know your people and support their welfare/ Not throw them under the goddamned bus because Jian Ghomeshi is all the rage on the news. Cut him some slack!?

If he can't handle the job he ought to step aside and let someone more qualified take up the reigns. Someone who doesn't let his judgement be swayed by media hype/

If no charges are laid, no complaints heard then there is no reason to suspend anyone or throw them out of caucus. ****!ng MCarthyism is what this is. Destroy people without the chance to defend themselves.

I agree with half of what you said wholeheartedly. The first half.
