That started in 1964 and had literally nothing to do with PET.

I believe $1 plus billion of it came from money returned by Veteran's affairs of money they decided that CAnadian Vets didn't really need at the same time as Canadians Vets were in court in Ottawa trying wring a few measly benefits out of this country.
Oh yes Harper is quite a little economist.
Only $150 billion in debt. That's way better than the Liberals reducing the debt by $90 billion
By February 2010 and July 2010, all of the U.S. Federal Reserve and Bank of Canada loans had been respectively repaid. While these funds were repaid in full, it is clear that the banks benefitted enormously from public financing when private funds were unavailable. In addition, had the rapid and enormous deployment of public funds not been available, most, if not all, Canadian banks would have encountered serious difficulty.
PET decimated the armed forces, no question about it.
Not really, but if that's what you need to believe that's fine.
The Liberal's began dismantling the Cold War forces in 1963-64 under Pearson. Paul Hellyer was actually the lead actor in that.
If you had any knowledge whatsoever about the Canadian military you would know that. But you don't, so you don't
The Liberals destroyed the Canadian military........and Trudeau Senior had a lead part in that. He hated the entire idea of NATO, and reduced Armed Forces numbers until we could not meet our NATO commitment.

He had literally nothing to do with force reduction. At the height of the Cold War the Canadian Forces was morbidly obese. ALthough the numbers are not ta my finger tips I believe the RCAF was about 180,000 at the end of the 1950s. It was ridiculous.

There is a place for debts and deficits, but I think at the point where it becomes systemic, something needs to be changed.
Unfortunately, our current world economic system is way long past that point.
The fact that PET was the Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party of Canada means he had everything to do with it .Go back and read some Hansard from the time .The reduction/unification of the Canadian Armed Forces in the 1960s was the Liberals - but not Trudeau in any big way. It was going on when he got there and continued after he left. The force reductions of the 1990s were also the liberals and also nothing to do with him.
Debt, in and of itself, is not a bad thing when used properly.
