This kind of extravagance is not restricted to the current regime, there's an "easy money" attitude that is pervasive through all levels of government, with employees, contractors and elected officials alike. Anyone who wants to stand up here and say that this is a Liberals-only problem has blinders on.

Agree that political practitioners in general run fast and loose with taxpayer funds however the salient point is liberals far and away lead the pack, they burn thru loonies like there is no tomorrow. Jt and wynne are in a tug of war to see which can spew loonies faster n' I think it'll be a close race.

Contractor not so much unless they are "consultants". Having done lots of contract work for different levels of government I quickly learned that you have to really pad your price to cover for vague contract wording and incompetent engineers. Their favorite wording is "or at the discretion of the contract administer or engineer."At the end of a bunch of specs.

Like it matters....sedan, limo, ... tomato, tomatoe it's all the same difference, JTs' crew are determined to surpass pets 'charge it' benchmark, pretty much confirms the apple not falling far the tree maxim. What did she accomplish, I've not see any result based stories at all unless she coached mcwynne on how to get docs to accept a contract offer. They rejected it so besides paying off a lib supporter and enjoying a sight seeing tour her trip was a bu$t.

I wonder how she would handle the Baffin Correction Center and the ill health caused by mould, sorry that should be ' caused by overcrowding alone'. Health Canada isn't that smart about medical issues so why expect them to know how to do anything with efficiency.
This advice will actually make conditions worse if you need proof of how stupid they really are. Somebody should check their water supply because being that stupid doesn't come naturally.

Sadly they're not the only douches at the trough........

Oh no, CON media is going after 'fiscal hawks' Kenney and Harper for double dipping.........

The federal representative for Calgary Midnapore is spending his time in Alberta, like other Alberta MPs, but he’s not there for the summer round of barbecues and dealing with constituent problems. Instead, Kenney is pursuing his own interests, working feverishly to raise a large war chest to give him an edge when the PC leadership campaign officially starts in October.

Kenney has been repeatedly criticized for taking an MP’s salary without doing the work ever since he announced his leadership bid in early July. He has never given a satisfactory answer as to why it’s the right thing to do.

It’s easy to see why. His actions are indefensible; even more so because Kenney is a former head of the Canadian Taxpayers’ Federation and styles himself as fiscal hawk.

Aaron Wudrick, the federal director of the CTF, has said, “Politicians are elected, and paid, to do a job. If they are not doing that job, they shouldn’t be getting paid for it.”

With what part of that simple statement does Kenney disagree?

And then there is former prime minister Stephen Harper, who announced in May that he would resign in the fall. Did he need the taxpayers to cover the cost of his summer?

Perhaps the entitled behaviour of these Conservative politicians wouldn’t seem so bad if they hadn’t cast themselves as guardians of the public purse. In Jason Kenney’s case, he has created an unnecessary ethical issue, all so he can collect three months of pay.

It seems a low price for one’s integrity.
