Liberal MP Joel Lightbound has spoken out against Prime Minister Justin Trudeaus handling of the ongoing trucker convoy protests. He held a press conference on Parliament Hill this morning saying that he thinks those concerned about COVID-19 policies have “legitimate concerns” that should be addressed.

Citing the impact on Canadians’ mental health, families becoming divided, and folks losing their jobs over decisions to not to get vaccinated, Lightbound said he thinks political leaders are “unwilling to adapt” and have failed at explaining to Canadians their rationale for continued public health measures.

He said he agrees with the federal government’s position that it’s time for the trucker convoy to move along, but disagrees with what he feels is the prime minister’s generalizing about what those who are taking part in the protests concerns are.

There is NOTHING Groper won't try to politicize.

"During the emergency debate the prime minister said that he understands the COVID-19 crisis has been hard on everyone and “these pandemic restrictions are not forever,” but disagreed with the Conservatives’ suggestion he has divided people."

Yeah, except to the call the protestors (and by default their supporters) a bunch of racists and misogynists. Yep, demonizing people certainly isn't trying to divide people now is it. Might as well have called them a "bag of deplorables".

He was elected in 2015 and therefore qualifies for the golden pension and will be fine . It is obvious his office was fielding a lot of calls supporting the protest .

TrueDope runs a tight ship. Dissention is not allowed. As a caucus member, when you are to have an opinion, TrueDope will give it to you. The fact they have 1 who is going against the party line is actually quite amazing. There are probably more that will join if given enough time to get a backbone. But before that will happen, this guy will be sentured and brought back in line.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

BTW, it's "censured."
