Sounds like what happened to the libbies out here in BC, Pete. The Conservatives apparently played king-maker for the NDP by effectively splitting the vote and cancelling out the liberal candidates.
No Conservatives on my ballot , only three choices , liberal, NDP , or green .

The Liberals did win those two Toronto Bi-Elections though. The federal Liberals saw their share of the vote drop in two Toronto byelections Monday, a humbling result for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the first electoral test of his government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. http://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/liberals-win-two-toronto-byelections-despite-stiff-challenges-from-greens-tories-1.5160783 Paul had urged Trudeau to postpone the byelections, arguing that it was unsafe to send voters to the polls in the midst of the second wave of the deadly coronavirus.

The Liberals ultimately hung on to Toronto Centre, where broadcaster Marci Ien fended off a strong showing by newly minted Green party leader Annamie Paul. They also hung on to York Centre, after a nerve-racking few hours in which the lead alternated repeatedly between the Liberals and the Conservatives before Ya'ara Saks finally pulled ahead by just over 700 votes.

The results were surprisingly close for two ridings that had been considered longtime Liberal strongholds.

If an election were held today:

Trudeau Liberals up 8 point over Conservatives in popular support if election called

Respondents rated Trudeau by a significant margin as the most decisive, intelligent, and charismatic leader

OTTAWA — A new poll suggests Prime Minister Justin Trudeau would be well placed to fight an election this fall, seen as the leader best able to care for Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic and to get the economy back on its feet.

Respondents to the poll, conducted by Leger and the Association for Canadian Studies, were split about the prospect of a confidence vote triggering a federal election this fall, with 42 per cent opposed to an election and 38 per cent in favour.

OMG - Trudeau is the least of the leaders to get Canada on track. He's pushing for globalism which means taking from what you have earned and giving it to someone else (by force) rather than letting Canadians decide who or what to support themselves. Seriously, Canadians need to re-think this man as he does NOT have Canadians best interests at heart - only his own & the rich globalists such as Soros who is spending literally billions of dollars to promote socialist/marxist ideologies. We're in trouble because we weren't paying attention to what our kids are being taught in schools. History is being erased rather than being held up as to what not to do thus showing how we've evolved as a society. Were things crappy 100 or even 50 years ago? In some cases yes but we've realized that and have made changes to laws & regulations. But destroying a society is their preference rather than making changes that will benefit everyone. Now it's based on race, gender, ethnicity et al. God forbid if you're white (as though you had a say in the color to which you were born). Stupidity continues unabated. THINK people! The "reset" is NOT a good thing. It means a major change in how our country is ruled and it's not by who you voted for but what the U.N. and other major organizations decide what is best for you. What Trudeau is spewing is garbage & we must stop him at all costs or lose our country.

I thought Erin O Toole gave a good speech yesterday. Anne Paul as well recently for that matter.

Nothing from the NDP to go with JT and his BS (big spend).

$2 million for economic diversification in my area will never make it past the consultants and planners. Zero diversification will be achieved but it's about more than that.

Best move by a politician in a long time to Navdeep Bains knowing when to cut bait and run. He qualifies for a ministers pension and tried to do a good job in a tough spot.
