The Las Vegas gun store Westside Armory is predicting a Hillary Clinton victory in November, and it has a message for customers: Buy now, because things are going to get expensive.
In an advertisement over the weekend in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Westside Armory said it was holding a "Pre-Hillary Sale" on tactical rifles, warning of a price surge if the Democratic nominee wins the election next month.
"Don't wait!" the advertisement reads. "Prices will skyrocket after Crooked Hillary gets in."
The words appear alongside a picture of a Smith & Wesson M&P Sport II, a semiautomatic tactical rifle that Westside Armory advertises for $700. The Smith & Wesson website says the rifle is used for hunting, recreational shooting and "home protection."
The ad was tweeted out Sunday by Jon Ralston, a political commentator with KTNV and well-known political pundit in Nevada, and had garnered more than 1,700 retweets by Monday morning.
A representative from Westside Armory wasn't immediately available for comment.
The reference to "Crooked Hillary" - Donald Trump's long-standing nickname for Clinton - is a clear appeal to supporters of the Republican nominee, who has accused Clinton of wanting to "get rid of all the guns" and "essentially abolish the Second Amendment."
Clinton has made no such arguments. Like President Barack Obama, she has proposed stepping up background checks and closing loopholes that allow guns to be sold online and at gun shows with few restrictions on who can buy them.
That hasn't stopped Trump, who has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association, from attacking her repeatedly on the issue. In August, he appeared to call on "Second Amendment people" to take action if Clinton wins the election and appoints judges who want to curtail gun rights. And last month, Trump said Clinton's security detail should "disarm immediately" and "see what happens."
Data on fluctuations in gun prices is hard to come by, but gun sales overall have surged in eight years of a Democratic administration, reaching record highs in 2015. Firearm sales spiked in 2008 after President Obama was elected, and again in 2012 when he was reelected. Firearm background checks have also tended to jump in the wake of mass shootings, as reported by The Washington Post.
Westside Armory, the gun store advertising the "Pre-Hillary Sale," was the subject of a Bloomberg Businessweek story earlier this year about the rise in U.S. gun sales. Westside Armory took in a record $190,000 in December 2015, the most in a single month since opening in 2014 - a figure consistent with national trends, Bloomberg reported.
In the article, store owner Cameron Hopkins lamented that "fear sells so many guns," while defending an advertisement from the store that read, "Your home is your castle. Defend it against the barbarians."

The latest WikiLeaks drop has revealed some of Hillary Clinton's top aides were upset a Muslim man had been named as one of the shooters in the 2015 San Bernardino massacre that left 14 people dead and her campaign chair suggested it would have been "better" if a person with an American-sounding name had committed the attack.
According to emails released Sunday, campaign chair John Podesta said it would have been "better if a guy named (Syed Farook) was reporting that a guy named Christopher Hayes was the shooter."
Podesta's comments were in response to an email chain that began with campaign liaison Matt Ortega sharing a tweet from MSNBC host Chris Hayes reporting the shooters name as Syed Farook.
Campaign spokesperson Karen Kinney responded with, "Damn."
Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, carried out the attack at a holiday party for San Bernardino County Department of Public Health employees which killed 14 and injured 22 on Dec. 2. The attackers died in a shootout with police later that day.
Clinton has resisted calls by opponent Donald Trump to refer to the massacre as “Islamic terrorism.” In a 154-page debate prep book developed two months after the attack, and also released by WikiLeaks, it is suggested Clinton call these types of attacks "radical jihadists," according to Fox News.
Sunday's leak is the ninth time this month that WikiLeaks has exposed contents of Podesta's Gmail account.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. - The Democratic National Committee has apologized after one of its campaign buses was spotted dumping raw sewage along a road outside Atlanta.
News outlets report a Lawrenceville auto shop employee alerted police Tuesday morning after witnessing the sewage getting dumped into a storm drain. The bus, which bears the slogan “Forward Together” and features the likenesses of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and running mate Tim Kaine, was in town for an early voting event.
The DNC apologized in a statement, calling it “an honest mistake.” A representative later said the sewage container was full and the driver was concerned about the contents leaking.
Gwinnett County fire hazmat crews cleaned up the spill, which included a large amount of drying toilet paper on the roadway. Georgia’s Environmental Protection Division is investigating.

On his program today, Smerconish questioned the morality of leaking hacked private e-mails.
While a noble thought, the reality is that morality is in short supply in today's world. Everyone should know by now that whatever you write on line can be hacked.
I'm surprised that the focus is all on the hacking, none at all on the fact that if people were more careful about what they write in their e-mails, it wouldn't come back and bite them in the ***.
There's an old saying, "You can say it with flowers, candy or mink, but only an idiot says it in ink". (Of course that applied to the 'breach of contract' that used to be a factor in romantic betrayals) but today it applies to every issue.
There is no privacy anymore. Camera and microphones everywhere, everyone with a smart phone snapping pics and recording conversations at will. If you don't want what you say broadcast and used against you, don't say it in writing. Period. That goes doubly for people in the public eye who are more apt to be scrutinized for political purposes.
Furthermore, while it is assumed that Russia is behind all the hacking, in reality it could be anyone; any country, a private citizen of any country, a brain-child sitting at a computer in his parents' basement.
The internet can be a boon to society but it can also be dangerous!
