I never understood that "Make America great again" slogan. The wealthiest, most powerful nation in history, and look at the list of American Nobel laureates, ask yourself who's likely to be there first with aid at any natural disaster, who rebuilt Europe after the destruction of WW2... just think of all that nation has accomplished for itself and the world. In all my travels in the U.S. I've found Americans to be unfailingly kind and welcoming. Of course it's not perfect, but by any measure that makes sense to me, it never stopped being great.

I have always been a fan of the U.S;, spent a lot of time there and never saw any fault with the people.
But it has been slipping backwards under the Obama administration. Racism has increased where it was once fading. World peace has deteriorated due to the irresolute actions and wrong decisions of the Commander-in-Chief and his Sec. of State. Crime rates in the inner cities is back to the level of the Al Capone days if not higher.


I think socialist and 'feel-good' policies have gone too far and the results are wide-spread civil dissatisfaction. The frightening thing is that Canada is following suit.


I think they need to get a grip on reality. The world is not the nice place they want it to be. They have to get tough. They can't buy loyalty from other countries by throwing money at them.

I was an Obama fan until it was clear that all he could do is make speeches and golf. Not sure Troomp will be any better we'll have to wait and see.

And if there's to be a global superpower, be glad it's America, not Russia or China. I hope that doesn't change, Russia and China have no idea what human rights are or how to deal in a civilized way with dissent. People like Ralph Nader and Noam Chomsky and Elizabeth Warren would not be free people in Russia or China.

The Americans who are protesting continually about everything and anything are doing a good job of showing countries like Russia and China how frail democracy is. The recent protests against the President elect, the violence, burning and looting would not be tolerated in those countries.
We of the free world had better start respecting and appreciating the freedoms we have or we will lose our freedoms.
