Looks like we can all agree...

There's nothing wrong with wearing both.

I'm glad you all came around and agreed with me... Maybe we could have avoided all the controversy between long time friends if we all just thought clearer from the get go.

I'm guessing that there are many in your community that have roaring bonfires in front of your house and burn your effigy

Why would they do that?

They have roaring bonfires in front of my house (on the field) but it's an effigy of a Catholic terrorist or the Pope they put on it. You know, as is TRADITION. As has happened every 5th November for 408 years. There's no point having an anti-Catholic day if you aren't going to be anti-Catholic.

Un-stirring the pot here. Gerryh, I apologize for my harsh words. Even though I fundamentally disagree with the white poppy movement and found your comments inflammatory I should not have said the things I said.

My sentiments too, but sometimes some people can piss you right off and you lose your train of thought.-:)

Having served for 15 years in the military, being part of the Bosnia / Sarajevo conflicts, I find the white poppy campaign an insult to myself and my brothers and sisters that were there to "Keep the Peace" Thank your for the slap in the face. I lost some very good friends in "Keeping the Peace" missions in Afghanistan some of which were sitting on my knee as infants to keep your democracy from being quashed. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth.

Why- I do not find it offensive- I find those that use it for political statements offensive. As the Rideau Institute did, very offensive.
