He suffers from guilt. He feel guilty of being a human.

He likely feels guilty of being a man as well.

Are you freakin' kidding me? So he's allowed to enjoy the fruits of his labours because he's "wealthy" but the rest of us are evil pricks for enjoying the fruits of our labours? You know what? When I flew, I flew to help others, not go jet-setting around pretending I'm a f*cking big shot.
I'm not trashing him because he's wealthy. I'm trashing him because he's just another hypocritical douchebag. I'm trashing him because he's busy castigating everyone else for enjoying the fruits of their labours with nonsense about how we can prevent a natural event from occurring.

As for the super yacht he rented for the World Cup, the hypocritical irony is pathetic. It’s difficult to get an exact gas mileage estimate for such a watercraft, but most estimates place it an appalling low 1 mile per gallon (mpg). Given it's size and the two 8000hp engines it has, we're talking about a fuel consumption of tens of gallons PER HOUR! (my calculations)
At least 20 of Leo’s friends are joining him aboard this super-inefficient yacht in Rio de Janeiro to celebrate the World Cup in style. Better yet, he is “borrowing” the yacht from Emirati Sheik Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose family’s $150 billion fortune is derived almost wholly from oil.

Meanwhile, Leo and the NRDC have no qualms about using their big influence to force the rest of us to improve our vehicle’s gas mileage. They have consistently pushed for a mandatory minimum of 54.5 mpg, which most experts say will significantly increase vehicle prices.

Leo’s yacht use fits with his other examples environmental hypocrisy. He recently bragged that he was going to “fly around the world doing good for the environment,” apparently unaware that the emissions from a single transatlantic flight can equal those of a year’s worth of driving. He also seems to be building a property empire, purchasing three more homes this spring, despite the fact that buildings contribute around 40 percent of global emissions. Clearly, the NRDC is willing to look the other way on these transgressions so long as it can continue pointing to pictures of him getting out of his electric car.

Even serious greenies aren't impressed with the goof.

Excellent post! While there are those who think that its wealth that we're envious of, it's not. You said it quite succinctly - it's the hypocrisy and it blows me away how people can't seem to see it for what it is. Suzuki and Gore too are hypocrites but are lauded as being "environmentalists" when in fact, they're just lining their pockets at our behest.

It's actually the regular guy on the street that is more of an environmentalist than any of them. We're the ones that re-cycle; drive the best vehicle that has good gas mileage that can afford, turn the lights out on our 1200 ft. bungalow when we leave a room (vs 3 homes at 8,000 sq ft each), turn the heat down in winter with our computerized thermostats when we're not at home and purchase low-flush toilets when we need to replace the "regular" ones to reduce water usage.

While I don't have statistics, I would bet you dollars to donuts that the average joe is more of an environmentalist than ANY of those blow hearts by a large measure!

So you put on a post 'correcting' somebody else's opinion with whom you did not agree and when somebody does it to you that is unacceptable? Gotta love they hypocrisy of those defending the hypocrite.

Someone has to feel guilty about it.

When Gore won the Academy Award he had placed a piece of paper in each gift bag (which are worth more than most of our yearly salaries) that the Academy Award attendees receive... it was a years worth of carbon credits for each millionaire. He said that they can now go and talk about Global Warming to the people. Hypocrites.
