I wanna be a pink-winger. Sounds prettier.

Prepare for the Pink Party of Canada, and the first-ever Pink Government — coming soon, in 2008!

I'm one of them I guess?

Marxist, hard left socialists and communists tend to call me a "right wing social democrat class colaberator" but the extreme right calls me a "Socialist" (which they see as a bad thing), Communist, or a lefty.

So ummm, if you take the middle ground in this one I think the truth is that I'm a social democratic with republican princibles.

I'm a switch hitter. A fiscal conservative. I believe in government spending restraint. A social liberal. Not social spending programs, but social as in individual rights and freedoms (abortion rights, any-gender marriage, etc). I absolutely will not support any party that pushes a religious agenda.

Canada, I would presume.
There's no reason why lefties should be in the closet. Indeed, I would insist on tagging conservatives and putting them in cages.

I absolutely will not support any party that pushes a religious agenda.
It's clearly obvious that we need to apply intelligent design to economic policy.

EDIT: I suppose I should make it clear that I'm red. I'm socially liberal, and fiscally conservative. Though, I do believe in government intervention in the cases of monopolies, and when industries are floundering. And tabernac, I voted for Chris Axworthy, and instead got Maurice Velacott.

Well I don't know why I came here tonight

I got the feeling that something ain't right

I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair

And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs

Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right

Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.

And the faith-based missile program.

Ok ok ill admit it...im a closet leftie

i feel so dang dirty

are you for real
ok-- that abortion signature you have
despite my leftie -- ultraleft-- leanings-- am paradoxically in agreement with it

im the only leftie i know that has quesey feelings about abortion..

no dont get me wrong -- i do believe in a womans right to choose-- im just not sure that its the right thing-- just dont know------

hell i hope im not becoming a right winger.....

ha, just messing around, I'm no liberal

Even in my high school and college days I never leaned to the left ( I thank my father for that one). The closest I came to being a leftie was probably toking up or moving to Canada.

You could probably get away with that, and get more votes than the greens!

I'm bumping up this thread b/c the title intrigued me and maybe I can offer something.

SassyLassie (and a couple of others?) were wondering what they are. Left? Right? Does the Left/Right pendulum make any sense in today's political climate? To answer these questions, you might read up and try the test on this site.

The test questions are deliberately provocative to guage our baser instincts. That makes sense, given that a lot of voters, unfortunately, base their political opinion on knee-jerk - and media-hyped - reaction, not on rational investigation.

the strange thing about the devil is that he wants peace , justice, truth and all that stuff-- so it turns out he is the good guy-- hes gotten a bad wrap from the humans who wanted to screw their fellow humans with good conscience-- so they invented a god that pretended to stand for all of the above -- but actually subverted it-- very clever---
but the gig is up -- haha -we figured it out

Everybody" knows " that devil is a lier , but you being a Liberal are to stupid to understand that, and that is why you started this discussion in a first place.

There's nothing wrong about right or left. From my point of view, right=individual freedom and rights; and left =communal principles, social solidarity, common laws.

In today's world we need a careful balance of both. But in the end the only right direction is forwards.

Personally, I lean slightly to the left. But I'm not simple-minded enough to justify my thoughts and boost my self-esteem by insulting any right-wing person or idea.
