For the sake of comparison, Colorado, with a population of less than six million people, initially opened 136 venues for the purpose of legally selling marijuana.
Also, for background info, Colorado went with allowing private businesses to sell pot, and their internal reports show that they have gained NO tax revenue at all.
Which is why every province in Canada is planning to run it as a gov't operation, so they actually get the revenue.

why did they not get any revenue at all? I oppose business taxes by default, but i do support such taxes on businesses that sell addictive products like marijuana. Why could they not just impose a 1/3 tax on net profits for example? If it's a matter of tax fraud, why not just enforce the law?
Not what I read. Colorado and Washington are apparently making tons of money.
Marijuana is not addictive.

Alberta is not a province to learn from.
