When good Catholic girls go bad.. Stefani Germanotta , graduate of Convent of the Sacred Heart seconday school.. like Madonna.. or Sinaed O'conner.. there seems to be impulse to rebel.. often with homoerotic regalia... they seem to think they are putting out something profound.. or new.. or that people could care less.. some grow out of it.. some don't.

As soon as I heard 'Alejandro', I thought it reminded me of a Madonna tune, but couldn't think of which...of course, La Isla Bonita...the voice is so similar, it's uncanny.

In spite of some of you who think there is no real music other than elevator music, the prudes who think any display of a sq cm of skin is disgusting, I like Gaga. She is a pretty good artist who writes songs of depth portraying issues of our modern world. Some of it is shocking, big deal.
I don't think she sounds like Madonna nor do I find much similarity between Madonna's La Isla Bonita and Alejandro except for the beat.
Madonna a dinosaur? rofl I suppose that comment came from someone who likes Marie Osmond or Pat Boone. Hey, guess what, coldstream! The Stones are still alive and kicking, Inquisitor; as is Clapton, Paul McCartney, etc. Dinosaur. Whatta laugh. BTW, did you know that some wolves display gay traits? :D
Johnny, we have friends whose twins boys have ADHD so I can sympathise with you, but this thread isn't about you or gays.

The lyrics in that video were too simplistic and boring. But the melody is a very good one, in fact an excellent one, no doubt about that.
So lyrics are supposed to be complex in order to be any good? lmao I wonder why no-one's put the Canuckian Charter of Rights & Freedoms to music then.

I know that we are young.
And I know you may love me.
But I just can't be with you like this anymore.
Alejandro.

She's got both hands
in her pockets.
And she wont look at you,
Won't look at you

She hides true love.
En su bolsillo
She's got a halo 'round her finger.
Around you.

You know that I love you boy.
Hot like Mexico, rejoice.
At this point I gotta choose,
nothing to loose.

Don't call my name.
Don't call my name, Alejandro.
I'm not your babe.
I'm not your babe, Fernando.

Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch.
Just smoke one cigarette and hush.
Don't call my name.
Don't call my name, Roberto.

Alejandro.
Alejandro.
Ale-ale-jandro.
Ale-ale-jandro. [2x]

(Just stop. Please. Just let me go. Alejandro. Just let me go.)

She's not broken,
She's just a baby.
But her boyfriend's like a dad, just like a dad.
and all those flames that burned before him.
Now he's gonna fight your fight, gonna cool the bad.

You know that I love you boy.
Hot like Mexico, rejoice.
At this point I gotta choose,
nothing to lose

Don't call my name.
Don't call my name, Alejandro.
I'm not your babe.
I'm not your babe, Fernando.

Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch.
Just smoke my cigarette and hush.
Don't call my name.
Don't call my name, Roberto.

Alejandro.
Alejandro.
Ale-ale-jandro.
Ale-ale-jandro. [2x]

Don't bother me.
Don't bother me. Alejandro
Don't call my name.
Don't call my name, Fernando.

I'm not your babe.
I'm not your babe, Alejandro.

Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch. Fernando.

Don't call my name.
Don't call my name, Alejandro.
I'm not your babe.
I'm not your babe, Fernando.

Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch.
Just smoke my cigarette and hush.
Don't call my name.
Don't call my name, Roberto.

Alejandro.

It looks to me as if she loves this guy who in turn in loves Alejandro. She decides she doesn't want anything to do with the relationship anymore and wants to lose her feelings for this Alejandro guy. In the meantime, the guy that Alejandro wants, Roberto, is like the guy she had before Alejandro. Or maybe it's that Alejandro reminds her of her ex. Not clear about that part. So she tires of the headache and emotional turmoil and wants to leave.

I guess guys are quite a bit different than girls and can shed feelings like a dirty shirt.
Anyway, I like the song even if it is kind of sad.

Frankly the Stones haven't done anything since Beggar's Banquet.. i suppose Exile on Mainstreet had some good riffs, but even by then they were a shadow of what they'd been in the 60s.. all their stuff sounded the same after that. Clapton still has some appeal, by sticking to knitting of solid Blues.. Paul McCartney was never anything after his songwriting partnership with John Lennon ended.

and as for Lady Gaga.. i always get the feeling when people see the need to shock, rather than let their talent speak for them, they are usually appealing to a pretty transient market.. and will be a short lived phenomenon. They quickly become Dinosaurs, especially Disco dance queens, who seem have especially short shelf lives.. Britney Spears, Christina Aguillera, Madonna..

*shrugs* You don't like their newer stuff, other people don't like their older stuff. It's just opinion. But they are still moving along whether you like it or not.
Clapton still has some appeal, by sticking to knitting of solid Blues..
Talent is talent. His writing partner, JJ Cale, is still around too, producing some impressive stuff.
Paul McCartney was never anything after his songwriting partnership with John Lennon ended.
Again, that's just your opinion. Other people like his newer stuff, too. Or are you saying you are a better judge of talent than those other people?

Yeah, they usually are short-lived, if they have little or no talent to begin with. I think Gaga has talent. Madonna a short career? roflmao She's been going since 1983 and her last album was out in 2008. 25 years is short? roflmao
I have no idea about Spears because I never was that interested in her stuff. Same for Aguilera.

I'm all gaga over Lady Gaga. I passed a tree shrub the other day and I thought it was Gaga in costume. She does have talent but I'm not sure it's high calibre. Strip away the crazy outfits and what are you left with? A naked, mediocre singer. Her lyrics might give her some longevity, but I doubt it.

Although I'm not a Madonna fan, she sure impressed me with that one performance where she straps on a black Les Paul and plays it like a pro. She even managed to get some mean feedback from the amps, ala Hendrix. I can respect that.
