I have no idea how many times one requires and if want to believe it's BS then it will be as you believe.
It took me a few as well but the one that made the biggest difference was the one that was not intentional. Perhaps that gives you more insight on my view. Does it matter what others believe to me. Absolutely not.
Yes, near death is a great enlightener. I had six, all unintentional, at least from a conscious point of view. On a subconscious level, though, it may be just the opposite.
I was trained in the Cree shamanic traditions, so, when I want to, that is what I have seen. What most people do not understand is the a prerequisite of becoming a shaman is a near death experience. Not just anybody can learn.

You must be right. I must be talking through that hole in my head that was created when I slammed my head into a wall of ice at 90 Km an hour. And here I thought I survived it. How does one go about checking if they are alive or not? How does one prove that there is life at all? What is real and what is not?
If one is enlightened, they know nothing at all. I guess I am not enlightened, so therefore... you must be.
It sounds as if life become a World with a "Vanilla Sky" for you Cliffy. It makes me wonder how far Health Canada will go for the Canadian Citizen.
I Like the idea of the user based reality. Problem is that you have so many influances from the outside it is difficult to Master. It is amazing how many people actually do it and just put it off as coinsidence or synchronicity.
Has anyone researched the Ong's Hat / Travel Cults? They where Quantum Physicists said to have traveled to a user based parallel World.
Warning: The whole story has been twisted/discredited/disinformationalized so that people loose hope in it very fast without some sort of enlightened knowledge that it can acually be done.
Experiment for anyone who has the opportuity.
Take a new breed of tree to a region that this plant has not been introduced to yet and tell the people that it is different than it really is, but still not one they know. (Give them and apple tree and tell them it is an orange tree.) Keep everyone that knows the real origins of the trees away, even if they agree to play along. An observer with knoledge will affect the experiment. Show them an orange and see if the tree grows apples or oranges.
Everybody creates their own reality. But, since most people are unaware that they do, they create a reality by default based on other people's beliefs. And since we all co-create this reality that we agree to live in, those of us who do create our own reality are restricted, to some degree, by those around us who do so by default.
