I'm not saying you're wrong, but I wouldn't prematurely assume this is a done deal.

Yup. They are probably paying for their lawyers with poached smoked salmon, rock lobster and Dungeness crab sold outside of bars throughout the lower mainland.

Want to buy some poached fish cheap? I know a guy in Tsawawwssen he has zero issues selling his alleged subsistence fish to whitie and chinamen. If the Feds cracked down on all the poaching, they'd be penniless

How can you not buy halibut for $7 an lb? put me down for 30lbs.

Remember my post just a few weeks before Lake Megantic with this picture?

is this what you want? They have no regulations for cargo content. They can haul whatever they want.

Yeah that Clark wants to prioritize her NG pipelines from FSJ and Peace region to LNG terminals. What happens if an LNG ship sinks?

And who owns the interstate highway system? TransCanada?

Try to wrap your head around the difference between public and private ownership.

Ultimately, however, you're right under the current state of the law. See Kelo v. New London, 545 U.S. 469 (2005).

A simple way around that would be for the federal government to declare that an energy corridor is in the public interest, expropriate the land and then lease it to various pipeline /power transmission companies. Might even want to run a water line down it to keep the golf courses in Arizona green.

10 court challenges filed against federal review panel recommendations for Northern Gateway pipeline

The Gitga'at are asking the court to quash the report and recommendations or, failing that, to refer the report back to the panel for further consideration.

And yet the Nisga is openly courting pipeline companies to rent their land. They have a treaty too.

I like my right of way payments. Basically money for nothing.

The Nisga are more interested in jobs for their people. Expect a refinery or two on their land. So are the Hailsa. And as I recall environmental studies and public consultation are not required on indian land.
Puts all the PC greenies in an awkward position when one the one hand they are all for natives bettering themselves and native rights but oppose a pipeline to a native run refinery. Should be interesting.

So what your saying is that they should only poll people from your work then.

I'm saying their poll is flawed or deliberately misleading.

They'd get upgraders not refineries.
