Ive never seen a smart evasion. I've only ever seen reporters get tired of going in circles with politicians and giving up. The press and people should be much harder on them when it comes to that.

Hmm, good point. He didnt really say much but the packaging is good. The fact that it isnt an attack ad is a plus for me. Not nearly enough to get me to vote for him, but its a nice change. Im hoping that we dont have to put up with two years of attack ads before the next elections. Fortunately I dont have to see them much as I dont have a tv but it is annoying when they pop up randomly or appear before youtube videos.

So your implication, is that while the rest of Canada is smart enough to see through an out of context quote and not let it influence their vote, the people of Quebec lack this intelligence and will hear the quote and vote for Trudeau in droves? I see no other way to interpret your assertion.
Personally I think we will see several 'failed' ads now as the Conservative election machine examines which ones work and which ones don't. They know that what is done now, 2 years from an election, will be long forgotten come election time. But when the election does happen, they will have the most effective ads identified and will run them relentlessly. The initial Ignatief ads were ineffective too if I recall. They tuned them up as the campaign went into full gear.
