The NDs are big tax and spenders.
They have not made any policies on how they would increase revenues for Canada, all they want to do is spend spend, buy everything for everybody, whatever they want, they want to buy it.

Read the platform?

Nope, just frothing out gibberish as usual.

So what are Harpers policies on economic growth?

Corporate tax cuts? Ask Ireland how that's working out for them.

You are what's called an economic enviromentalist.....you don't care about the environment and choose not understand it for political reasons yet respond to it for economical reasons.....better than nothing I say.;-)

Curious, what where do you get the power for electricity from?

The real problem with carbon is from burning coal or liquifying it for fuel.....if we eliminated that it would go a long way to reduce emmissions.

New Brunswick produces power by hydro-electric dams, fossil fuel generating stations (which burn Bunker C oil), Belledune (a small coal-fired plant) and the Point Lepreau Nuclear generating station.....if it ever gets back on-line.

I see.....do what you were going to do anyways....vote for the cons.

Instead fo pretending to be upset with them.

You don't read too good Avro, I NEVER said anything about being upset with the Conservatives (the Party)- You can't f*****g read anyway, but to refresh anyones elses memory who is in doubt, what I said was that I was utterly disgusted with Harper and still am. As a Christian he is a hypocrite, but there's those who say you are not supposed to mix up religion and government. So I don't like the man but I also don't like the thought of someone going on a borrow, tax and spend rampage. ;-)

It's still ending up in the atmosphere as emissions...it's definitely more efficient use of the carbon which is nothing to scoff at, but combusted bio-diesel and cow burps still end up in the atmosphere.

The issue here is cost. Government's are throwing money at this, including our own, but I don't think it's the best bang for the R&D buck.

My, what an angry old man you are.

Harper borrowed 50 billion last year and spending has increased under his regime.....sounds much like Reagonomics......borrow money to give rich people a tax cut while increasing spending.

Psst.....btw....didn't work in the long term now did it because it created a false economy fueled by debt.

So your electric furnace isn't all that green.

Coal is the worst enemy of the planet by far.....after man.

I do...what's your point?

5 does not resonate with people.....I'll meet you half way and say 12.5.;-)

The public will shred anyone trying to put people away for such a ridiculous amount of time just based on illegal guns. My grandma would go to prison just for having not done anything with Grandpa's rack of guns since he died.

Better get rid of them then.

I have pretty much made up my vote to vote for the NDP also, there was a time when I struggled
with what I might do, but I can't vote Conservative with Harper still on the planet, and that would
be too much to do anyway, they have plunged this country into such debt even without the payoff
to keep the world economy turning. The Greens, now there's a bad dream for you, these people
are so far out of touch with reality they make the Rhino Party of the past seem logical.
The Liberals, oh dear God, I think by ancestors would come back and haunt me if I did that.
As someone who looks at issues, issue by issue, it takes a while to listen, but at least the NDP
are talking about real issues and solutions to problems that are real. Harper says we will help but
in the future sometimes half a decade down the road. Besides Jack did very well in the debates
and I like him. Another vote for Jack then.
If you think Harper plunged into debt, it was because of the oppositions urging. You'll find out what real debt is if Layton or Ignatieff ever get power!

Yeah, we found out about debt during the Cretien years.....umm....oh yeah.

The NDP in Sask ran surpluses when everyone else was running deficits.....not sure hwo you prove the NDP would run deficits when they have never had power federally.

I lived in Saskatchewan and Manitoba under NDP government and it was well run. In Ontario the NDP were a bloody disaster!
I can only listen to Layton's platform (And the Liberals) to think how much money they're going to cost us. We already live away above our means, hence the deficit, and plans for more services just aren't affordable.
The economy is growing at 4%, health care costs ALONE grow by 6%, so where is the money coming from for all this other stuff?

I forgot to mention too that I think the people of Saskatchewan and Manitoba had a lot to do with the NDP success. They aren't so greedy and demanding everything under the sun, and more inclined to be sensible and satisfied with the status quo.

Taxing big businesses is part of their platform, I think. That would generate a lot of revenue.

The NDP did exactly what the Harper cons are doing now, spending to add money in the economy. The NDP committed a lot of money into infastructure like subways and hwy 11 and 407. The cons under Harris came in and spent 80 million to fill a hole that had been dug for a new subway line, sold the 407 for a song to see tolls go up 1000% and took credit for the Hwy 11 4 lanes.

Cons spend and borrow to stimulate the economy....good.

NDP spend and borrow to stimulate the economy....bad

Plus Bob Rae is a Liberal now, I'm not voting liberal.

Same place the where the money for shiny new jets are coming from.

It had to do with good policy.
